> Marmalade Nebula some of these are just taking the piss. others i really feel... yeah, that would actually fly. that lewis reminded me: most strains are named for their parental lineage. i replied that this was the problem with the world; that one wanted to go out on a limb. create something decisively new; like tying off a knot. perhaps, though, i have a compromise, here: nebula is a good name, and from what i know of the strain, marmalade nebula is... arguably logical, even. so alright, fuck it, never mind my ridiculous strain names from outer space; i've offered one with some proper roots. but then i'm just trying to get the high score on the arcade games no one touches; so whatever. |

- - - Bilirubinugs unanyways ~ "Bang On" by Propellerheads IS NOW A LEVEL in the VR music game i've been designing in my head [to be released: likely never]: you are the geezer speaking in the intro speaking about banks and banks of humming machinery: "...hold my hat, would you? There's a good fellow" the game then displays a modeless dialogue over your field of view ~ [GIVE CHARLIE YOUR HAT] ...and because it's how i want games to work, there's no rush. you're free to go around and fuck with all the machines for 45 minutes if you so desire [which are sort of like if doepfer made 50's valve radios] after you give Charlie your hat then it's [TRY PUSHING THIS ONE] and then it's like a momentary dissociative blackout expressed as a mushroom trip ...or, actually, it's like when you're playing counterstrike, and your internet dies, and you have a colossal brainfart when out of nowhere you're looping your looping your looping your and this is the game mechanic. it stacks loops of the last few motions you made, leaves trailers, all that, and you have to escape the level with sequential patterns of motion after you manage to finally whack another knob, the floor starts moving like the virtual insanity video, and you have to start dodging furniture. in loops. it gets progressively more bizarre and eventually you're jumping over watermelons on the moving walkways in chicago o'hairport in between having to throw a steak at a dog and shake the president's hand, in perfectly timed loops this made me cry and i'm angry i can't throw furniture and dogs and presidents and propellerheads at people in VR. i can't even afford V let alone the R |
