can anyone tell me the best proggies in this department?

For a firewall, a friend told me to get "black ice
defender," but i have no idea on how to use firewalls, and
won't they stop me from downloading? (shows how much i know
about them)

Also, for virus portection, i was told that norton isn't so
great because when you install it, it assumes that
whatever's on your pc at the time is OK. Is this true?

thanks for you help guys!

D-load Zone alarm for firewall,
and A.v.p (both are light and furiously good.)
