Have you ever noticed that James and Dali have a lot in
common such as both having the same name as their dead
bother. And both of them of them are basically surrealists.

yeah but Rich drives around in a tank, and I'm not sure that
Dali would be down with that with the whole anti-violence
thing

Dali sort of turned surealism into a cliché.

dali was AWESOME!

his idea that i like the most is that he thought it was the
best thing ever to want to consume people.
"to eat people" he put it, i think.

wait a sec, thats liek
"i want to eat your soul"

so afx is an audio dali ripoff?

lol

im afraid that Aphex Twin might turn in to some Dali kind of
guy...im pretty sure that Tom Jenkinson is the Francis Bacon
of IDM,beside the gay thing i guess, his music ,especially on
"go plastic" reminds me a lot of his paintings

Its odd how the past repeats itself. They both experiment
with different ways of creating art and they seem to always
go to the extreme on what ever they do and they dont care
what happens.

I always noticed a similarity between the two also... Dali's
art and RDJ's music just seem to naturally complement each
other very nicely

Dunno, just doesn't do anything for me. I loved Dali's work
when I was little and didn't know about the artist, but I'm
just not into that shit anymore. It seems like surreal just
for surreal and nothnig more.

...like a movie loaded with special affects but lacking in
content. Not that there isn't content in his work, I just
don't feel it on the personal level.

I kind of agree with you Jupitah.
But i got loads of respect for his skills as a painter.
He was very fucked in the head , atleast thats what he
wanted us to think.

offline Omneignotumus on 2002-04-04 00:34 [#00157021]

The 'plots' underlying Dali's imagery are more sophisticated
and interesting than any of any movie you will ever see. The
'special effects' are merely manifestations of these
'plots'.

Your probably right and Dali was a serious artists. I don't
have the same attitude towards special fx films as I do
towards Dali, I was just explaining the emotional reaction I
get from his work.

I read an extensive article on Dali and accoarding to it,
Dali was very fucked in the head, and his wife kinda
reflected that. He would try to stay of the meds but his
wife would force him to down a bunch of stuff so he was
always jacked. Sounds like he was quite tormented.
