okay this is one of those stupid top ten lists- only it's
different, and it's for specifically for artists- stupid
names you've given your music (or art of any other kind) and
the reasoning behind the title

my example will be my glowstick trance song made in a fit of
rage, vodka, and lack of real creativity-
i named it "fairy land" 'cause it sounds so fucking gay-
and because i hate it, naturally everyone else loves it...
damn life sucks

Back when i started making beats I named a song :
Dingleberry Whapdegos
I was also frying on acid at the time.

becouse he did not like it.

I named my first track ''1sttrack'', which, looking back,
wasn't a particularly attention getting title. Then again,
it wasn particularly worthy of attetntion.

I have ten tracks which are all perfect anagrams for "broken
computer," a record that I made with songs saved on a CD-R
after getting my computer fixed.

i title my songs with nonsensical labels. they are only used
to identify the songs, just like people have names.

I'm not racist, its just a funny word that poped in my head
when i was fryin.

sometimes i just dont want to name a track...it just feels
silly. i mean come on. just becouse a song sounds like
thunder or something you dont have to call it "thunder"

do you know what it means?! speaking of funny words that
just pop in your head when you are high, i renamed my dogs
'sparky' and 'coal' wiht new names: "seshonvee" and
"satchmo" those are their new stoner code names.

offline diemax from somewhere in tennessee :( (United States) on 2002-04-01 03:34 [#00152993]

yeah at that point i'll just name it something like "good
song A" or "shitty track" or some other basic description of
it, just so i can remember which song is which

offline diemax from somewhere in tennessee :( (United States) on 2002-04-01 03:35 [#00152996]

you renamed your dogs??? that's cruel man, how can you
possibly do that???
unless they're "hippy" dogs, it won't be cool man...
are they hippy dogs?

the song titles for my idm/shitty electrode music are all
jumbled letters/anagrams for other words and shit. the song
titles for my wierd live instrument recordings are all
wierd...like "somebody stole my pants" or the crappiest one
"song" that song kinda sucked... i just thought id throw
it out...my new album of wierd instrument music is called
prosthetic face and my first idm disc was called "ledts
stappple our shoes togetherrr"

"anagrams are interesting if you take away the ability
nowadays to make them easily without any thought using
internet sites... and if they weren't such an obvious copy
of aphex track titles." quoted from sean booth

i agree...but most of my tracks are just jumbled
words...kinda like new words that dont mean anything yet

forck- i completely understand that, that's how i remix my
shit- every time i end up with a song i think up a random
word(s) and then add 01 to it, next rmx is 02 so on and so
forth

how'bout "understanding hugh"?
or "the tin mans top secret mission in the heart of nazi
germany" (i'm still inlove with that title)

yeah i also add extensions like v.2 or v.3.1 ...for example:
girlfriend song v.2 and girlfriend song v.2.1 - i have four
songs named girlfriend song, therefore v.1, v.2, v.3,
v.4...but say v.2 is a distorted guitar track and v.2.1 is
an acoustic track...thats how i work things out with my
music

really? i was thinking about naming my dog "D.O.G.", but my
ma wouldn't let me-
forck i totally dig what your talkin' about, my explanation
has more to do with my lazy work ethic though, most of the
tracks i put out aren't really finished... and most of them
never get finished... i'm really not concerned with
perfecting my music, just my creativity
