Ok, do you prefer old Aphex Twin before ICBYD, or new Aphex
Twin ICBYD and after that?

this is a hard question... I prefer the newer stuff though,
although I like some of the older stuff as well... the new
stuff is better though imo...

*sigh*

There is no way I can possibly begin to try and answer
that.

Or I can just resort to, "It's all amazing."

i love them both equally, but since you did use the word
"prefer" i would say new APHEX TWIN.

blah, this is going nowhere... I know it's hard, but what do
you enjoy most? I like stuff from both old and new, but I do
enjoy the newer stuff the most... :)

I Care Because You Do and forward. I like it MUCH better.
I'm not much into the old school dancier stuff. Though SAW 2
is just in a vacuum, it doesn't HAVE a time... it just
floats there being beautiful. Or something.

the older stuff
the first song I ever heard ,
was the girl /boy song,
and I still like it the most,
together with the richard d james album
and come to daddy

Old stuff!

But old stuff to me is like Ab1, Ab3, Classics, cautic
window, polygon window, joyrex series..... GAk...

I prefer the nwe stuff...probably because it's more various
than the old techno...but aphex is always good

Drukqs. I'm all about the "piano" songs. Both the disks blow
me the fuck away.

I like a bit of both...that's one of the major joys of being
into AFX, he's done so many varied tracks that there's
always something you haven't listened to in a while...

At the moment, drukqs is still floating my boat in a big
way...can't get enough of that DrillnB sound he's got going
on there...

Def the best thing he's done in years...far better than rdj
or ICBYD (kinda mid period rdj)...

Things are looking good for 2002...let's hope we see some
MEN release's soon or maybe the Astrobothnia stuff will have
the fabled 3rd release remixed by AFX (as good old kara
mentioned...)...not sure if I believe it's gonna happen but
it would fucking excellent if it did....

bring it on....

i like all the stuff after ICBYD, its better produced and
sometimes in the older stuff u can hear tape hiss and newer
stuff aint as harsh.

i think the old is far better than the new.... ICBYD and all
before is great, but RDJ, Come To Daddy etc.... not as good
imo..... Drukqs is cool though, i was really glad he
released that, i thought he was going downhill never to
return with his previous few releases.

Old aphex is much cooler and pure aphex twin.

That said, i still love new aphex.

Sido...the servers still there; got FLEX, MonkeyDrummer &
Rephlex Radio up there at mo but will taking them down
during week and seeing what else I've got that people might
like...

Let me know if theres anything you are after....

xenon....agreed, mate...Drukqs has def put AFX a bit more on
track, I'm a lot more confident for the future now after
that release....

Well, thats a matter of opinion

Well the later stuff seems to be like him putting in
different influences into his own style.

Older aphex seems more like he wants to create his music.
There arent many influences, which makes it pure richard d
james, if you catch my drift.

jand, to be honest, i had already given up hope! i was
like, 'well, that's another artist gone to shit!' but then i
heard drukqs and, like you said, confidence restored... not
that i think drukqs is that great.... in fact, i on,y really
like the copy rthat i have on tape which only plays either
the left or the right channel, can't remember which, but it
makes it sound a lot more interesting.

But i think that with (almost) everything, the old stuff is
the best.

old and new aphex twin! The old releases have their charm,
they are so pure.

The new stuff is more polish in my opinion he seems more
confident and relax and it really comes thru in Richard´s
new songs but I think its obvious since he´s doing it for
so long now, but the old stuff still kicks its all good
4real.

Lately, I have to say I've been listening to the older stuff
much more... it really has staying power

I actually just rediscovered my Caustic Window Compilation
and have been listening to it all day!

technologically, come to daddy and forward blows me away far
more..but i care because you do has some genuine beautiful
melodies on there, that whilst flim and iz-us do provide
too, there's something far more nostalgic about them for
me..I think, as a whole, i prefer the newer stuff though..

That question requires hardly any thought for me. If I heard
his old stuff first, I'd probably never have bothered to
hear his genious new stuff... pre drukqs though.
