yes I have the incal, I should get the others really, there is one that he did with another guy called moonface which I read at Christmas and I really loved. His stuff is filled with symbolism and metaphor, half the time im on subconciously aware of what it means but it does seem really profound |

i saw on netflix escape room 2017 (it's the one with 6 friends): 6, it wasn't too good tau: 8, i thought it was decent, not great. really i'm in a mood to not to rate low. inglourious basterds. 8. i'm rewatching some tarrantino's. it's just a fun flick (though with a lot of violence). some actor performances are outstanding, pitt, mike meiers, christoph waltz. the bar scene is exciting. and the cinema is outrages fun. not the cool opinion to have, but pulp fiction is his best movie |

Dragged Across Concrete. Totally unPC realistic buddy cop movie. Slow as fuck, nearly 3 hours long. Mexican guy gets his head stood on. Mexican girl half nude gets treated like shit. Black people made out to be criminals. White flight addressed. Sexism, racism, more racism. Fucking cynical film. I enjoyed it. 8/10. My cousin thought it was too long, gave it 4/10. |

the babadook - hehhhh but it's kind of funny how unsubtle the allegory is blanche comme neige - cool zoo - really strange even for a peter greenaway film, michael nyman very cool as always sorry to bother you - pretty fun chinatown - great showgirls - the main character is so hyper it's great fun night on the galactic railroad - very sad movie about gay cats and grief :( |

Like many an old person that saw Silent Running as a kid in the 70s or early 80s, I remembered it as being powerful, moving and haunting. What I didn't recall when I watched it again the other day was how fucking boring and stupid it also is - 2.5/5 |

Yes, I have Powerful Memories of watching that when I was too young and bawling my eyes out over the noble self sacrifice and tragedy. Little did I know that rewatching it would entail what felt like days of watching Bruce Dern in a bathrobe mumbling to a couple of walking jukeboxes. I still like the weepy sounding Joan Baez song at the end. |

It Comes at Night 1/5 ( I like a film that invites the viewer to fill in the gaps and not have it all on a plate. Not so sure about a film that asks the viewer to fill in all the gaps because beyond the bare bones of some unlikeable characters and a barn you've not got round to a story) |

Midsommar (1/5) Hated it. Wanted to die. Feel awful for having seen it. Speaking as someone who really liked Hereditary AND (the original) Wicker Man ... God I hated it. I wanted to punch someone in the cinema. I practically did. Ugh. |

The Color Out Of Space - a generous 7/10 Nicolas Cage played Nicolas Cage and it was overall a derivative mashup of The Thing and Annihilation but it worked more than it didn't work, there were some good scares, and a genuine feeling of horror and loss. Awesome body horror. A good B-movie, with flaws. I like Richard Stanley's vision, however it was obvious Nicolas Cage had slipped his reins and was freeballing, not as wildly as Marlon Brando in Island of Dr. Moreau but still. |
