i am actually just starting to enjoy his stuff. it took a
while but it' sgets better the more you listen to it

digiphex from philly on 2001-08-08 18:46 [#00020446]

ovuca is decent you should listen to king stacy there are
some real good tracks on that EP. he is like alot of
experimental musicians he doesn't give a fuck he just puts
out what he feels is going to be good or just fuck with
people and how many other musicians have done that? aphex
twin, square pusher, U-ziq

Ovuca is great. I have his Onclements cd and it's like an
audio accompaniment to a story of a bad case of attention
deficit disorder.

Ovuca has many styles, and although he takes a while to grow
on you.... when he does, you just can't resist his music.

Planning to get Wasted Sunday soon.

ANyone ever listen to Like A Tim here?
i'm getting his cd soon.

grant from master control on 2001-08-08 22:07 [#00020507]

imagine going on a board to only say someone sucks...

as long as somebody enjoys his music then he's doing
good...

which is more than a thread like this is...

the guy is one of the most natural, funny, gentle, youthful
people i have met... and he has heard virtually no
electronic music which makes his stuff all the more special

he and bogdan are the kings of the next generation...
totally original, inspired sounds... check www.ovuca.com,
there are free outtakes there

Right-o Grant!

As I've said before, if we were all making music for other
people and rankings, we'd probably be making pop music,
then eh?

I don't listen to much electronic music, except for a
handful of artists. Personally, I'd rather go to an Everly
Brothers, or Frankie Valli concert than an Autechre concert
;-| I really dig AFX though, and lektro. Cylob and Like A
Tim are f'in fantastic, highly underrated, the both of them.

I have my jogging minidisc full of cylob and like a tim
tracks, and its hard not to just fucking break out into a
spastic dance jig on those long straight aways.

I'm also digging some electronic musicians online:
mikrosopht, aem, deceptikon...

One man's trash is another's gold, as they say...

Wow, it's been a slow day at work today (as evidenced by my
large amounts of posts, inbetween episodes of Crocodile
Hunter, yeah, I have cable tv in my office).

So I downloaded a buncha Ovuca mp3's from the site someone
posted earlier and listened to 'em.

Ovuca is good shit, simple, catchy, and reminds me of cylob
at times. I also like the way he/they toss in the background
atmospheric sounds (as in cow is a mammal and 19808)

it's easy to be negative
try harder to be positive
you can say bad things about whatever you like but qualify
them by recommending something good as well maybe?
