the ones at travelling fairs do have a bit of an unpleasant
rep... underage tit gropery in the dark and such. i had a
donkey rub off some twat in a frankenstein mask, not scary
just mildly painful. i've been in the "ghost house" at alton
towers, less rapey but still shit

Unusual but. Great choice 👍
When we got good at the game on snes we made a sport of
ridiculing others beating them with every character,
especially with dhalsim cause hes so slow. Yoga flame!

sharda - chin up is the best video i've seen to capture that
fizzy, sherbet-head rush of being at the fair On
Something.
file under 140bpm niche-y neo-rave

totally accepting scares and stuff for what they are, ace.

On the third date with my now-wife, I took her to Porthcawl.
We went on the ghost train, which predictably, as an adult,
was tame and utterly non-scary. Just as we were emerging
through the final set of doors to outdoors, one of the ride
operators, who had presumably been hiding in the shadows
just behind the doors; simultaneously leapt onto the back of
our car, made a scary monster noise and touched me on the
shoulder. Completely involuntarily, I roar and throw my
elbow back, as I twist around to see what it is.

I was absolutely mortified, guy has fallen off the back of
the car and is staggering dazed at the edge of the tracks
holding his nose and moaning. I hop out and run up to check
he's okay, apologise, etc. his mate who is operating the
ride is creased up. Hit guy is blinking a lot and eyes are
watering, but mercifully, his nose isn't broken.

As it calms down they're both really sanguine and friendly
about it and say that it's rare that someone lashes out like
that, but that it does happen and it's even rarer when it
does that it connects properly like that. Date quips to guys
that she's never going to try to jump out to scare me in the
house.

Thinking about it, it was a genius place to hide to give
someone a scare, the daylight signalling the end of the
ride, people finally let their guard down, etc.

Not on the ghost train, but there was a double fatality on a
rollercoaster in that same fairground when I was a kid.

It was still open in high winds when it should have been
closed and a boarding arch over the track made of ply blew
down and killed two school children from another school.

A couple of kids in my school, who were in the carriage
behind, managed to duck down enough that they 'only' got
horrifically disfigured by it.
