if anything on earth is an alien artefact then it is
sanskrit.... hah - and shrooms, if u listen to Mckenna

i directed some clueless guy looking for shrooms in a field
that has never had any, to a big load of fly agaric, the
other day.. really nice specimens they were too. well, they
are psychoactive (reindeers piss n all that)

i found fucking thousands the other day!!
sanskrit sounds fascinating.. i don't think Mckenna was
aware of it?
i've heard people describe it like: when you say a word, you
are bringing the thing into existence... reminds me of when
ppl talk about the machine elves in DMT-land, telling you to
'do what we do' and vibrate "faberge egg type things" into
existence... !
ha, fucking fffar out:)

>>>i don't think Mckenna was aware of it?
he must have been aware of it, surely... he had fucking
everything... i never heard him talk about it
though...interesting angle

id love to meet the machine elves, my mate said he smoked
something that made a membrane extend out from his body to
the edges of the universe, that sounds quite interesting

yeah there is a another creation myth that sounds like that,
singing stuff into existence, quite a far out ideas. Would
anything technically exist without an external observer to
notice it, in an independent sense.

You know whats weird is well we have names for everything
but really nothing has an intrinsic name, its just something
that exists and we call it a sun or a mountain

i feel this topic of names kind of pops up here every once
in a while but i really love it. magic is described
similarly in ursula k leGuin´s earth sea and i posted this
before.
if you know the true name of anything you can control it.
this is true in so many ways.
as for a scientific way, we observed the universe and found
a way to name the elements, atoms and so forth and this
enables us to learn more and more about it. language is our
key to understanding the universe over the generations.
by now, naming something unknown also means you understood
its nature.
i wish we treated sciences a bit more like magic. like
asking the molecules to do what you want them to do before
you start your experiments etc. its a respect thing. i can
see lots of labrats saying their prayers and i feel it may
be a good thing to say it out loud. ritualize it in a way
that reminds you that not you are the master, maybe not a
servant either, just someone who humbly asks for something.
that would be an additional way to use language. maybe add
some movements and gestures too.

i wonder if it was possible for a thing to have an intrinsic
name. maybe mathematics or equations could be that. guess
that would be a very long "name" for a mountain or a star.
or surprisingly short.

it looks like all the stuff the crew/director/props people
were reading at the time.
rohrim = lord of the rings?
druze
trip next to agaric fly is just great ^^

another thing to love about the movies 1 & 2 surely were the
props. they just nailed it with those. its something modern
scifi movies and tv often have trouble measuring up to.

yes most modern films look like they are on some perfectly
clean set, it feels very inauthentic. I think part of it is
to make the continuity between CGI and physical sets feel
seamless, i dunno. CGI overall has been one of the worst
things to happen for the film industry, it allows laziness
to set in, I can't tell one film from the other now, even
that new DUNE film looks like a cross between Arrival and a
marvel superhero movie.

>> You know whats weird is well we have names for

like, how the fuck are human languages even different to
each other - that is totally mental to think about. Like
water hitting rocks and eroding wildly different paths based
on initial conditions, but the process of erosion is always
the same...

rounded

but yeah its a layer of cognition we arent normally away of,
much more abstract,

I was thinking about it before, with words we are dividing
the universe into categories of distinction, whats the most
important property of a singular entity, the shape the
colour,

Just had a look and Donald Sumpter who is in that film who
is a bit like a tesco value Terrence Stamp, perhaps they
can't occupy the same room together cos they would self
annihilate

Im starting to think consciousness and the universe is just
a bit of a cosmic accident, like watching a slug fall off a
housebrick, it wasn't intentional it just sort of happened!

like watching a slug fall off a housebrick... ace!!
that should be a UK zen meditiation :)
i love that film, all those movements apparently are the
proper ones, and you can tell, look how in-sync they are

otherwise yeah i reckon thinking about conciousness is a bit
like that Arab saying about the bloke charging around the
village on his donkey going "where's me donkey"

i was thinking of relative time, how every particle in the
universe has its own relative time, imagine if it was really
exaggerated like the corner of one room was in the first
epoch/eon of earth and the other side of the room was a
million years in the future, and your shoes were in the 18th
century. Now extrapolated that and imagine all the molecules
in the room varies massively in time. That would be a bit
weird wouldn't it

i did wonder if there actually would be quirks in time on
earth for some reason. lets say micro black holes darting
through the universe. and lets be very generous and imagine
a whole organism would pass this barrier alive and be
transportet to another era in one piece. (obviously not
possible the way i created it but anyway). lets say an
exteme event could do that. it always gives me these
goldrush fantasies of endless possibilities with this, or
the robinson´s exile type of scenario. i just love to get
lost in these. or explain myths and wonders of mankind with
it.
now with the relativity as we understand it a human would
only be able to move into the future, which wouldnt explain
ancient rudimentary acid batteries.

for all we know, they could vary in a noticeable way. among
other things this may explain why sometimes an experiment
goes this way sometimes another. or maybe its more constant
than we can ever achieve to measure. but id love to mess
with it ^^
