Sorry I had said something about my dad losing a lot of
money
and I didn't like how that thread made me feel later.

i wish i still had my first edition cards from when i was
younger because i could probably sell them for a boatload of
money now. i bought a deck like a year or two ago because
one of my buddies plays it (apparently he's really good,
there's just no competitive outlets around here for him to
play at), but i haven't used it yet; i kinda just liked the
designs & artwork more than playing with them back in the
day anyway. i would kind of like to get back into it tho,
just because i need more hobbies and it was pretty fun. my
first experience with mtg was back in the 90s when some kid
brought a couple of decks to the swimming pool one day and i
was like "hey those look cool, what are they?" and we played
a few games and then i got hooked on collecting them. i
would prefer to play with a legacy deck if anything, just
for nostalgic reasons.

chodi has hit upon the motherfuckin nexus, here. i played
MTG, i did. i still have a lethal deck, just an asshole,
you'll hate me for using it

my best buddy is lewis, aka lewis carroll; that's the alias
ive given him on ziltyzone.

he has been in and out of the mental hospital. he does my
brain in the most lovely ways.

"i threw away my safe," he says.

"what was in it?" i ask.

"a rock with illuminati symbols written all over it." he
replies.

at this point, i just lose it in giggles. too ridiculous.
but, wouldn't you know it, someone else he knows actually
gave him that rock with illuminati symbols... so, not only
was it a real thing, but he didn't even make it himself; it
was just there. but he still felt sufficiently worried
enough to seal it in a fireproof safe and throw it out

he just gave me his MTG cards and his whole weed stash while
he flies out for a month to better vibes. godspeed

what if he had it in a safe not to keep it from being
stolen...but to keep the evil of the illuminati from getting
out?

i pirated the first online MTG game and reliably got
destroyed. when you play with physical cards, you have to
spend time amassing them. over time, people develop
collections of cards unique as their own consciousness, and
this influences their deck design, and their playing style,
and the results influence all of the previous: card
acquisition, deck design, playing

on this first online version in, oh, 2002 or something, you
could just build decks out of anything whatever man and the
stat junkies just totally took over. i tried a version on
xbox 360, and they'd limited it somewhat, predesigned decks,
and that just plain sucked.

so, ironically, charging for the cards might improve the
feel of this, er, product. however, it's still not the same:
buying booster packs like scratch tickets; never knowing
what you'll get. the old-skool analog precursor to loot
b0x3n
