about once a year, i play through simcity 2000, as much as you can finish the game anyways -- archologies; map built out. many times i've actually let the game just pump out the soundtrack to a midi port; had a GM hardware synth play the music. i think actually have the gear necessary to do that again. could a korg wavestation handle it? i don't think it implements GM. i'll have to go with my data-bent roland |

and yes, sim city 2000 is one of the best games i've ever had the pleasure to get lost in and the soundtrack produces instant nostalgia |

i feel like jazz jackrabbit was when epic megagames got it together properly. kiloblaster, electroman, jill of the jungle, before that. feeling for something but not quite there. omf 2097 thoroughly after that. then, eventually they put out unreal tournament, and that was a shift; tim the sweeny dropped the "mega" and it became a properly huge company |
