Judging from the ad I think you may be right. Recently
rotten tomatoes had to change their rules to protect these
two movies from bad reviews.

I see a tweet has already caused mass controversy! James
woods now involved! A saga before it even comes out.

Any controversy regarding episode 9? I mean appart from the
fact many will have already decided it’s shit.

I haven't seen every single marvel movie but the worst ones
I have seen are Captain America (thoroughly unwatchable hell
movie), Thor and Doctor Strange in descending order of
awfulness. Funny that these aren't the ones the youtube
screechers go on about.

I used to fly quite often and would kill time by watching
marvel films. Cant say I enjoyed any of them. Captain
America being the shittest. How can anyone outside usa enjoy
that shit?

I like neither of the films you mentioned, but on a cosy
night in while flicking channels on the tv, dog sleeping by
my side, I settled with Ant Man and had fun. In a “this
has a cosy eighties vibe” kind of way. Like john Hughes
giving the super hero flick a go. (I’m sure his would have
been better and even more cosy. The change of dynamics
involved when being tiny are fun and far less tedious to
discover over most other powers in those movies. Alan Moore
and Stan Lee opened a can of worms in a way.

I liked Dr strange but it's one of the few marvel comics I
used to read.

I think star wars will be worse by virtue of JJ Abrams not
having made a film I've really enjoyed outside of mission
impossible 3.

when Iron Man came out it kind of legitimately (for me ???)
felt like a breath of fresh air a bit. felt like the first
action adventure big budget movie in a while that was *fun*
again.

but yah, after awhile it all became the same old shit and
totally bad and garbage. i was suckered in for a while but
eventually had to >stop<.

they're all bad.

The Endgame is going to win 7 Oscars regardless of quality
in a return of the king style pat on the back and thanks.
There's no way it doesn't because Kevin fiege has basically
kept big budget Hollywood relevant for the last decade.

will ever be able to top Black Panther. At least until they
release Black Panther 2! Wakanda Forever!

Tucker Carlson, who I think is an American intellectual,
describes women as "extremely primitive" and "basic".

Ha! Tucker Carlson is no "intellectual". Real intellectuals
don't support tearing fucking children away from their
fucking parents, for one thing. If you want a real
conservative intellectual viewpoint I'd suggest someone like
David Brooks.

The liberals sure have their feet in their mouths now,
though. Last year these pieces of shit were all harassing
anti-fascist activists for demonstrating against Carlson.
All this could've been prevented if we didn't allow fascist
assholes like Carlson a platform spew their hateful
rhetoric.

Agreed, I loved it as much as New Hope and Empire, which
surprised the heck out of me. The only factor that can
reasonably explain the manbaby screeching is the
ressentiment of white male identity politics.

I find that the people I know who enjoyed it can think for
themselves. You’re right in a way, it became a fabricated
trend to be against it and vocal. I wonder if big is still
upset at what “they did to (his) Luke”. That’s another
thing, people feel like they own the bloody thing and that
the franchise owes them something, with a balance never
found. It’s either too close to the originals and not
inventive enough, or too inventive and not close enough to
the originals.

Wasn’t a lot of the negative feedback actually trolling
from Marvel fans as well? Basically add all that up and you
get the biggest gap there is between casual reviewers’ and
professional critics’ ratings.
