I remember saying to joyrex on joyrex.com that it was a good track and he just didn't like it at all. I haven't really listened to it since. At the time I had no idea about making music. Now I can hear things like the FM work, I don't really get FM at all,but aphex is the FM fucking master. He knows how to get really acidic type of lines going on in FM. |

plenty of aphex music flew over my head at the first time i heard it, for not being set up to feel the music and ready to understand the dance background of it, never honestly made a thought about the way it is done. |

likewise on the harder tracks, blue calx is a perfect example of disorienting at the first time and a grower later. clearly unfit for the sacrality of aphex's ambient act when i first got the internet, strangely expecting overwhelming rhythms after the mtv days, thought that blue calx was boring or something |
