how to sound like analord but still comes across as unique

Sup guys, so my attempt at making broish housey tunes has
pretty much failed in terms of making me popular and rich,
but it was a lot of fun, unfortunately I am piss poor and am
willing to do just about anything to get notcied/popular now
short of sucking bums dirty dicks for crack, I have decided
to emulate that hipster cherished "analord" sound but I've
notcied that its cool to rag on ppl who do that and say they
are shallow and derivitave but I just don't care, as long as
I can find a way to make it seem like I am somewhat unique,
I was thinking of $aybe instead of using a 303, use effects
on it or something

Please help

That's a little involved, I was thinking something more
along the lines of using a 303 but doing something hip and
trendy but at the same time has never been done before, so
its easy but at the same time will get me noticed and
popular, you know, without doing a lot of work so I can
focus on more important things like my web programming.I
might just have to resort to posting on WATMM.

wifi or something

Another trick is to use weird time signatures, cause in real
music they are consodered more difficult than standard 4/4,
and mainly used in classical or academic music, so when you
use them, it may provide a sense of musical know-how and
genius to the listener, but at the same time due to being
precomposed on a computer doesn't require any of the mental
difficulty, so its the best of both worlds, you get popular
and sound all artsy and weird, and smart at the same time.

What? You want to be popular and hated or just hated? Cuz
if you rip analord style and are no good, everyone will just
bash that shit. And if you're good, you wouldn't be asking
how to do it.

As for bro house whatevz, yah that is viable. Just spend 1
year in the gym- daily- and spin Tiesto tracks that have
pauses in them with synthesized voice "djhardcore", then
DROP. Make sure you take testosterone as well, to speedy
your gainz. So after you spend 1 year working out 3 hours a
day and on test, you will be buff. Then take some meth and
cut for a couple weeks to get fucking shredded. Then you
walk around town with your tank top and delts popping out;
record bag hanging from shoulder cuz you're a serious DJ
(and headphones around neck, with cord just in your pocket
with no music player). Make sure your hair is short and
sharp with bleached tips and shiny hard gel. Tan is
necessary. Tight jeans necessary. Shaped eyebrows
necessary.

Then you just walk around beaches and club parties for 10
hours a day and be popular with the ladies, telling them
you're a world class DJ who spins at resorts, like in Bora
Bora and Goa. If you're ever tested, you'll have your
Tiesto spinning practice to get you through, but the real
part is that by that time, you will be living the popular
pop DJ lifestyle, without actually having to work with
music.

The whole point is to become a self-absorbed asshole- yet
actually somewhat hot and smooth. If you get there, you'll
be turning down DJ gigs to pretend you have to be in Beunos
Aires via Dubai in 37 hours, and you don't want to miss your
flights. But when you do accept DJ gigs, they should just
about cover the amount of coke you'll be giving out for free
to have sex with random teenage girls who think you're the
shit.

Godspeed.

Thanks Peace, you always have deep and epic wisdom. I
however see myself on more of a dedicated, unique mission,
one that will break the boundaries of music itself and
forever unite the djs and epic techno producers of the world
with the "little people". Well, this can only be achieved by
separating myself from the norms and carving my own path, I
plan to start out with 303s and 9/16 time signatures.

Teenage girls, beaches, and Tiesto are cool and all but how
does that lead to immortalization of my iconic image, which
is what I am truly after.

Ahaha... Yah, well... I dunno how serious you are about
all this, but (prolly a solid 35%, though)...:

Music boundaries can be broken, by secluding yourself from
hearing TV/film music, as well as all online and radio
music. I tried to do this for a year in 2001 to stray from
influences, and eventually what happens is that your ideas
of learnt cliches and shit changes, so you eventually start
producing music that you really feel personally; that
doesn't feel too much like anything out there.

But truly good music is never going to connect with "the
people", because the masses have tastes that are crafted by
pop culture. So to be "immortalized" by the masses, you
have to make generic mass music, ala Skrillex.

His fame and influence will probably fade, though, because
he is based on fads. Richard D James, on the other hand,
has output that's primarily been based on personal
expression. Fortunately he's good, which is why he'll be
known and appreciated far longer and deeper than Skrillex
ever could be.

But if you study the history of the following artists, you
might be able to craft a path for yourself to walk, with
regards to being worldwide famous (at least people know the
sound), as well as being respected by people who actually
have taste (the very difficult double-dip power):
Daft Punk
The Chemical Brothers
Fatboy Slim
Moby
Prodigy
Meat Beat Manifesto
Luke Vibert and his lounge stuff
Massive Attack
Beastie Boys
Giorgio Moroder
Stuart Price

Godspeed.

Why would you buy a 303 when you can just pirate a vst?

"Why would you buy a 303 when you can just pirate a vst?"

I love computers. I love VSTs. I love your grandmother.

However, ... a 303's sound has NOT yet been mimicked
successfully by a computer if thats what you mean.

im not a gear freak or a computer addict --- im just stating
teh facts

The TB-3 manages it plus it sends out the sequence via midi
so this is the answer to djhardlucks question.

If you want to be a true analord you can only use cv/gate.
Midi is a&d.

What are you trying to achieve? Messing around with code
things just makes you look more ridiculous.

Say something if you anything to say.
