wow what a lot of posts, since i started this thread i guess
i'll post my opionion of the us...

it sucks.

i'm an american by the way.

the main problem with america is the citizenry. most nations
have the same problems, but the us situation is exacerbated
by the fact that the us is so powerful and influential.

many citizens have an arragonce that is undeserved. they
feel this way becuz that is how they were taught, and becuz
it is too much trouble to think for themselves.

but how is that different from the protestor in iraq who
burns the flag and believes that america is 'evil'? it
isn't. he is beleiving what he is taught to believe.

both sides have ample evidence. some think america is
ruining the world. some think it is rescuing the world.
who's right?
no on can say, except someone who is totally impartial and
posseses all viewpoints and all information (which is
impossible)

i still believe the government needs a major overhaul and
the citizenry needs to wise up, and that's why i think it
sucks.
however, many places are far more corrupt. i'm somewhat glad
to have been born here.

I get baffled when people say they are proud to be American
or British or wherever they are from. What's to be proud of?
The fact that your parents lived in your particular country
when they had sex?
