Ocre used to come around here. I haven't seen him in ages. I
quite like his music.

the midsummer nightdream was a really great album, maybe not
special in its sounding, but amazing in progression and
structure, very original and personal... i wonder how this
will be...

It's better from what I've heard, just lovely. Ochre is an
amazing musician.

He has a great ear for melody.. very imaginative, very
creative.

I'll have to check this.

"A Midsummer Nice Dream" was a bit of a disappointment for
me, to be honest.. The songs do sound better mixed in a live
set, however.

well, I managed do download only two pieces, but "111"
sounds very cool, with strong beats, and a baroque-like
string interludium.

I enjoyed A midsummer nice. It's has a nice mid-90
warp-sound. And nice melodies

The 'Lemodie'-album is among the best releases I've heard
for years! Here I am, listening to all the tracks in the
middle of the hot and awesome Swedish summer night.....
Magic!

Highly recommended!

This is fantastic i love it long time.
The last time i saw ochre on xlt which was ages ago, he gave
away 10 tracks including bluebottles and vegas all nearly
200kps and they are some of the best tracks i have ever
heard.
It crazy to think that i have spent loads of money on music
and the best of it all is the free stuff ...mad.

This is a music thread.

It sounds like he's using intrumental samples on some of
these tracks - one of those humongous eastwest sample packs
that takes about 40 gigabytes just to represent one of the 7
ways an oboe is capable of squeaking.

This is unusual in IDM music, where artists tend to use
straight up synthesis or short scrabbly wabbly samples of
drums or exhaust pipes scraping the pavement and suchlike.

Did you notice that even when the same melody loops several
times, no two loops are a like, and in one bar something
goes PRRRRRRRRRRRT and in another bar something clicks a
bit? Tastefully, mind you.

I said I liked this horrible music and no one called me on
it.

:-(

Ochre is a real talent; i really like a midsummer nice dream
and lemodie as well (track no 1 called 111 is stunning). He
should work for warp because his sound is very close to the
label

Well, after being out of print for the past two years, I've
finally bitten the bullet and sunk a chunk of change into a
re-press of Lemodie (with the help of Benbecula). Just took
delivery of the new CDs this morning!

I'm selling them through Bandcamp, bundling an instant
download with every CD, for six quid. Visit my shop to order!
