Drum Break from The Winstons "Amen Brother" Used very much in DnB produktions. Check out "that amen track" by Lemon D Or "Concealed Identity" by Source Direct There must be thousands of tracks using that break.

Come to think of it you're right. It'is on Straight outta Compton sure as hell. But isn't Bukem supposed to be the one bringing it into speedy clubdance environment?

nah...Bukem's more a "ambient" jungle kinda guy so I doubt the Amen would fit with him...
It's probably easier to list those who haven't used the Amen rather than those who have....

And I think Dillinja is one of best producers out there...his bass and Amen work is simply outstanding....
"Firery the Angels Fell"....and he samples Bladerunner/BLAKE in that Angels Fall track (which is simply stunning)...

I'm not going to claim any in-depth knowledge of jungle/ d'n'b, I've just seen this amen thing credited to Bukem several times. Anyway I don't like his style (or the whole good looking style for that matter) and agree that 'pusher pushed thebreak to the edge of panic. How can you be cooler than Come on my selector?

yeah, Bukem's at least partly resonsible for popularizing the Amen break in dnb, especially on his early singles, but he's hardly alone.
What I find amazing is the versatility of the break itself, given that it's been used across the spectrum from the Bukem/Good Looking records types to Squarepusher.

Dillinja without a doubt has made some of the best use of the break...He is a very technical d'n'b artist and with tracks like Angels Fell and Armoured D he has to be considered as one of the best.
I think Dom & Roland (imo Industry was the best d'n'b album ever, and the Frozen remix is superb) and DJ Trace are also excellent.
I think Squarepusher is good but I don't like his Amen tracks, for some reason I think he strips a lot of the impact out of the break.

For those who want to know WTF everyone's talking about:
The Amen break is a sample from "Amen, Brother" by the Winstons and is one of the most heavily used breaks in d 'n b.
