just trying to find out....

At the moment it looks as if it someones grabbed the domain
name...which could well be legal if planet-mu let their
registation do out of date...

yeah, I noticed...hopefully Mike'll go for that now as I
doubt theres anything he can do...(apart from buying the
domain back from that guy and they generally charge a
lot...that's why they do it...)...

Only seems to happen with .com domains...so .co.uk will be
safe...

Bastard!! domain-nappers....these bastards can put people
outta business...

it's all automated qrter... the domain name databae is
easily queried so they can see what domains registrations
have run out....

I'm not 100% sure that's what happened here but it certainly
looks like it from that registration record....

Must have happened sometime today as well as I visited there
this morning....

how do you know this? do you work there?

i dunno .....if that's true tis a sad day indeed.

ANOTHER reason peepz should be buying CD's to support these
artists. s'ok to d/l songs to check them out.....but BUY the
CD if you like it. don't burn copies.....we need to keep
these small labels afloat =/

What? argh!

Just as i was getting into them, blam! they are gone.

Happens to the best of them, factory, creation, loads.

Who will then take up the artists then? what about vsnares,
jega and the rest?

i'm sure they'll choose signing to another label over
retiring at the tender ages of 23-28.

Let's not jump to conclusions. I remember even hotmail.com
accidentally forgot to renew their domain name a few years
ago.

In that case it the person who registered it gave it back
but I imagine planet-mu might have a tougher time of it.

Who will take them though? there isnt much money in the
scene at the moment, and some labels might be reluctant to
sign the more extreme end of the label.

well, Atop, I think I'll do a remix of no_id, but I'm still
on a 56k modem, so I haven't been able to d/l his packs -
that is, I was at a friends house who has broadband and
could've done, but then the phorum was down..

I don't know no_id outside of the phorum - he lives in
France (I think), and I'm in the Netherlands, so thats still
a lot of kilometres..

I don't have aim.. I will have broadband in a few weeks, so
maybe then.. I'll be on icq at least..

have fun remixing!

yeah....it's all about money....

Grab a just outta date domain and then hope the original
owner wants it enough to pay lots of money for it...

Obviously a lot of businesses can't afford to lose their
domain name so they tend to pay up....

Very sneaky & underhand....
