Not of death, but dying. I'm scared of what the last few moments before i die will be like. You know, when you're in last few minutes (unless of course you die suddenly), and you know there's a big chance that this is it. |

Well I guess fear is the emotional counterpart to our survival instinct. If we had no fear we would walk into the road without looking, have sex without a condom, try and give up smoking etc. |

i didnt think much about deat untill 2 years ago when i started watching 6 feet under i liked how they started the show with poeple dying all the infinit possibilities i can die any minute anytime i am not afraid of dying i am afraid of how i might die i dont want to die drowning or burning short quick painless deat i had a OBE a few times and it is known that death is close to an OBE i guess i will come back i believe in reincarnation |

If oobe's exist, which I think they do cause I've experienced some, very vague experiences cause they are quite unlike this perception, then after death comes something else, that's proof enough for me but I guess we all need to have one of these experiences to believe this. halucinogens in safe but large quatities will prove this for any reasonably intelligent person. I dreamed that i died once. It was not a pleasant feeling. I got shoot in the head and my vision starded fading to black like the end of a movie and my body left me. I tried to scream but i had no voice. It was a panic feeling , i couldn't belive i was actualy dying , i had the feeling like when you have lost a match or something and you feel you could have done better , you wanna press a replay button. A horrible feeling of failure. Then i woke up . It was a dream i will never forget. I hope that when i die i will have made peace with my self and can embrace death like a natural part of life. |

i look forward to death as a possible interesting experience. this doesn't mean i want to die right away however, i still find living to be interesting and mostly enjoyable. i think death will be like pre-birth. nothing there to percieve or remember. the interesting part will be the last few moments when i know death is imminent. as conciousness leaves me will i be able to percieve the exact moment of death? will it be too quick to comprehend or seem like an eternity? will i be comfortable with the thought of dying and accept it? or will i feel regret and want to stop it from happening? can i use force of will to delay it? will it be terrifying? whatever happens, it will probably be a profound experience. |

thats cool Sido, i had a dream very similar to that. i was in a wharehouse full of movie backdrops and set props. all these mafia guys came in so i played dead so they wouldn't kill me. but then this one guy realized i was faking dead so he shot me. then i was dead and everything was black and i heard a sound like when you hold a sea-shell up to your ear, like the ocean or wind. that was the end of the dream. |

thankfully our brains are not wired so we think about DEATH daily! and thats a good thing IMO. i fear death because i love LIFE so much. however i don't think about it too often except when a friend passes away suddenly, or a family member, etc. i know when you die so does your brain so you don't KNOW what you're missing. but thinking about it now....i'll miss the sunrise.....sunset.....my loved ones.....the smell of the rain. someone said....death is a journey you begin when you're born....but i like to think of it as LIFE begins when you're born.....we all know the realistic outcome. |

I've a feeling the afterlife is gonna be a bit crowded and let's face facts, filled with people you've done your best to avoid in this present life... OOBEs tend to be culturally biased...so that say Christians tend to see a Christian style afterlife, an Indian will see experience something completely different...you kinda get what you expect...which suggests they are internal.... (And the heaven drug users see generally turns out to be a bit of carpet or piece of fluff on closer, sober inspection...:)...)... BTW I'm not denigrating OOBEs or halucinogens...I just don't see them as any proof of an afterlife... |
