zombie

Nu-Metal should die.
All of 'em, Limp Bizkit, Linkin' Park...should all be put in
a room with Rage Against The Machine and be made to lick
their boots before receiving a THOROUGH kick-in.

Nu-Metal should die.

Don't worry...it will in time...best thing about fashion is
that if you don't like it you don't have to put up with for
long...

True: in 5 years. Linkin Park will be just another band of
old farts touring their asses of in front of half-empty
clubs for a living.

"Now that what I Call Nu-Metal" or similar compilations
generally spell the end...I've seen a few of them
recently...

The next big thing is terrorist chic...

dave grohl once said something very interesting:

"i don't know if rock music is going to die. i mean, if
it will, then it's ok! i like drum machines a lot, I really
do, but no drummer in the world would trade his drumset for
a drum-machine. if they do though, they're fuckin
traitors!"

I am willing to kill it, but I need an army, to kill off the
wandering pathetic mindless zombies, drooling and nodding to
the mundane backbeat piping out and controling their minds
from a hundred thousand soundless stations that dont even
need receivers for their transmission, it's fed straight to
the depleting brain...

volunteers?

rock music is dead. look at mtv and much music. its dead.
its all cliche now, there's nothing original about it
anymore.

Dave Grohl isn't a particularly good or interesting drummer,
but that statement is true. I'd never trade my drum kit in
for a drum machine.

When compared to someone like Danny Carey, Elvin Jones,
Dennis Chambers (even though heplays shit music), he isn't
very skilled at all. Beyond that, I don't like his playing
personally.

thurston more (sp?) was here in lincoln for no reason a week

i agree. i think he doesn't play the most difficult breaks
or fill-ins, but he plays extremely stable and on point.
a lot of nirvana's power in the songs should be credited to
him!

recycle: sonic youth rocks! i suggest everyone to
buy "washing machine" one of the coolest and weirdest rock
albums ever. it is a rock opera! :)
(just needed to say that....) ;)

and the swing and ska crazes of the 90s.

Jarworski: "Songs for the deaf" is awesome! I don't
know, QOTSA has always given me some nice musical moments. I
like em...

btw, I personally think you can't say stuff like "rock is
dead". what is rock anyway? The Stones? Pixies? NIN? Iron
Maiden?

it would be the same as saying: "Electro/Techno is dead".
Well, some parts/styles certainly are dead when I remember
that mid 90's dance-techno bullshit like Rednex or
Masterboy.
And there's also some rock stuff which is not the freshest.

But take a look at RDJ. It's timeless. It can't die IMO.

Same as some rock stuff. there still are some very good
(new) bands... mclusky, qotsa, new end original, etc.

rock n roll aint dead. sonic youth, weezer, elvis costello,
then there is like emo rock stuff like pedro the lion, sunny
day real estate..... man i love rock! even more underground
stuff like Phish (who just announced that they are back
together) they play some rockin tunes. download a live
version of chalkdust torture and tell me rock is dead.

IMO, The best rock/metal band around right now, MASTODON
