this kind of shows the true colors of the message board.
being IDM fans i guess you don't have to be inteligent, huh.
hating music is juvenile, and hating a genre is worse. there
are of course things that i choose not to listen to, but
hate is too strong, i respect anyone with the drive to
create music, you all should too, especially you musicians
out there.

I hate really middle of the road music. Stuff like Travis,
y'know, whiney, dull, weak, boring, moaning, tedious (i
could go on.) Also I heard some Savage Garden today at work
and that really sucked.

It's OK to hate certain types of music. (i think) I have
some respect for anyone who creates music, and gets it out
there, but certain stuff just winds me up. I can't help it.

agreed wildrover, its fucking dumb to hate music, that makes
you as bad as those stupid kids who think stuff like
nu-metal is uber underground and not in that hands of the
biggies and so hate everything else - like people who think
IDM is the most superior form of music. Ofcourse I have
preferences and i'm not that partial to country but in the
end all music is inter-connected anyway, its one big happy
inbred family

PS-boddingtons is horrible though, in that respect i'm a
HATA

simple,bad music.

i hate euro pop/ibiza mainstream shit,a lot of indie/rock
bands who all sound the same, country, boy bands--all they
sing about is love/losing love/finding love/getting it back
not treating their love bad,or sorry for not loving you the
way they really should etc.etc.garage,teeny boppy stuff
etc.etc.
obviously you do find great music withen each genre[apart
from garage]
uzim your right about comedy music, weird al yankovich simply
isnt funny.

yeah but there should be music to suit everyones tastes.
it'd be kinda boring if we all made and all listened to
'IDM'...it'd just stifle everything

let the people who want to listen to Madonna listen to it,
especially if that's what makes them happy, that's the whole
point of music

Music I "don't like". Wouldn't want to use the word hate.
That would be "juvenile".

1. Country
2. Rap
3. musical parodies
4. Grunge
5. Techno
6. Ambient

true, but its impossible to create music to suit everyones
taste........a 3 min song containing
pop,trance,opera,clasical,drum&bass,idm,country,rock,heavy
metal, techo, ambient, world music, singing in all languages and
styles,with a bit of hip-hop/rap/r&b,etc.etc. i doubt will
work.

i think you can't love something if you do not hate what you
see is opposite.
call me a child but that's how it goes.

what i don't like is new r'n'b, death metal, uplifting
trance or hardhouse/trance.
generally also everything which has an even beat over 160
bpm. (that is, i do like drum'n bass but dislike hardcore)

I always think it is stupid the way people say they hate
"commercial" shit...by "commercial" they mean anything that
has sold in large quantities.

I can honestly say there is not a genre of music where I
haven't found at least one track that I think is excellent.
I am not into Gabber but when I heard Fuck Em All by DJ Dano
I was amazed at the energy. I don't listen to that much
Ibiza stuff but I like that Cafe Del Mar track a couple of
years ago.

What I can say I hate is tracks which attempt to sell based
on a gimic, for example that "Blow my whistle" or whatever
it was called and that new squeeky toy effort.

Cheesy remakes of tracks (Scooter and friends step forward)

Anyone that directly rips off a lesser known artists sounds
and trys to pass it off as their own.

Producers who do nothing but put out 8 formulaic tracks a
day for majors.

erm... and some others.

I respect musicians, but people like nsync or brittney
spears don't right the music or the lyrics. On top of that,
anyone with voice lessons can sing like that. A lot of th
music nowadays is the same shit that everyone else makes, so
it gets annoying. Listening to most rock station will make
you feel like your hearing the same song over and over
again. I like the origianl people. 311 was original. In
country, Garth brooks was original for the most part, though
I don't like it. Point at hand:
A lot of music is very un-talented and boring. "ThugLife"
as rappers put it is bullshit...

I can only really hate specific songs - and only because I
have no control over their excessive presence in my life.
i.e. at work listening to Warm 106.9. Also the song "We're
an American Band" by Grand Funk Railroad. That is getting
played ALL the time since this year-old surge of good ol'
fashioned American Jingoism.

I'm also really surprised that there hasn't been a hit pop
song about September 11th yet. Except that damn country
song about "don't know the difference between Iraq or Iran"
all proud of being ignorant...ahhh, the USA.
