Probably a bit of both.

Anyway, when 9/11 happened, I felt sorry for the victims but
also enormous respect for the pilots. Some see it as
despising life, I see it as beleiving in a higher form of
existence... Though everyone knows I am not religious, but
it is nice to be reminded (however horribly) that there are
still people out there who are not willing to trade spirit
for consumer society spectacle/ simulacrum.
