Innit, I mean, dude...they are awsome! They have these wicked, well meaninful lyrics about how s**t life is and they say the....*gasps*...f-word well many times! It's just wicked! And, they wear these really wacky masks because they are HARDCORE and they don't wanna be famous! That's why they wear those masks, coz they are true to their people and they aren't a commercialized pop band, innit! *ahem* (Sorry, I believe I've just wasted two minutes of my life typing a very, er....pointless point. I'm not a Slipknot fan, but there's a part of me that still likes that metal stuff I used to listen to in junior high. I don't mind Slipknot that much, actually... I kind of like ''Wait and Bleed''. But they seem way too gimmicky, they're a bit grating. But I was listening to Master of Reality on the highway earlier, and THAT'S how metal should be made, baby... nu-metal doesn't have the magic. |

The only Slipknot song worth a shit, ever, was 'Eyeless' - the vibe when it hits the second chorus is perfect, insanity on a cd. But yes, it's contrived, it's not big or clever, but all things in their proper place and all that. The fans are worse than the band, these kids thinking they're Satan incarnate cause they have a t-shirt with a banal slogan on it... |

Eeeerrr....I think you'll find, if you actually bothered reading my post, that I was being sarcastic. This was brought up actually, because I was talking to a Slipknot fan on msn who really did believe the wore the masks because they were "hardcore" and didn't want to be famous. Which, IMO, is rubbish-I think it's all a load of hype personally. I don't hate metal, though....I like some prgressive bands like Emmerson, Lake and Palmer and even more, I like Dream Theater. |

Slipknot aren't sellouts really. As much as I want to call them just that. But they have even admitted in interviews that the only reason the make music is for the money...So they aren't sellouts cause they were never really into it...To me, they're like the backstreet boys of Metal... |

I used to get all revved up against metalheads too when i was about sixteen and used to listen to mogwai+gybe! all the time, and then i realised that i was basically listening to fucking post-metal (for want of a better term) anyway, so fuck it, i just as well get my rocks off to slayer. as it happens i dont think slipknot are 1 0.0000234 as extreme as some peopl think they are anyway. I dont know..I think their music sucks dog's bollix..but I actually quite like their masks and boiler suits look..an updated millenial GWAR...they play their vids every once in a while on the late night video show here..I enjoy watching it with the sound muted...a cheap badly made 2 minute horror flick..you gotta love that :) |

I like Slipknot, i like Aphex Twin. I also like loads of other music. I don't judge one over the other as it all depends on the person really. I got the first Slipknot CD from 1996 last night, wow is it odd to listen to. |
