what the fuck is this shit?

seriously, zeus likes movie, end of story, agree or disagree
and then explain why if you want, must we always start shit
and go completely off from the topic at hand?

You know people don't like you on this board and you know
that people on this board don't like that movie yet
YOU just had to bring up the fact that you like it.
I was just trying to warn you about potential backlash for
your opinion. You obviously didn't get it and then you get
all defensive which seems pretty weak to me. So just leave
it at that.

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2002-08-21 04:58 [#00358193]

I brought it up for discussion man

I know people dont like me, yes.

So?

I cant make topics anymore then?

It was in no way a deliberate attempt to piss people off,
but to discuss the movie

calm down man

The film was well made but it's original premise is so
laughable that the whole thing just collapses into a mush

mel gibson is not a good actor anyways, i mean he remade the
same film 3 times: braveheart then the patriot then we were
soldiers only in different times periods.

It was better than I expected actually..still collapses into
a muck down the track but it's got some pretty nice
moments..very unexpectedly funny moments..infact it's not a
very scary movie at all..which is what they keep trying to
propmote it as..its closer to a more subdued Mars Attacks
than XFiles

while i can see why people wouldnt like it...

i think the whole comic book obsession thing was pretty
realistic... showing how people can get obsessed and take
things too far...

Hey man, we're agreeing on a lot tonight! Helen Hunt
is damn hot.

And also, I think Unbreakable is a really good
movie. Not near as bad as most people make it out to be. I
found with that movie and Signs multiple viewings
really made me appreciate them--I didn't like either the
first time I saw them.

I thought the movie was alright...it had me going throughout
the movie up until the end. That sorta killed it for me.
It was like watching Stephen King's IT for a moment.

was it really??

I mean I havent stopped collecting comics...that movie plain
didnt talk to me if you know what I mean..most of the comic
fans are lot more evolved than the Samuel Jackson
character..infact with creators like Alan Moore, Neil
Geiman, Grant Morrison, Warren Ellis..I think comics are the
most sophisticated of any visual story telling mediums..and
the obsessional pea brained fan boy stereo types has more
occurenaces in frachise fanaticism like Star Wars and Star
Trek than they do in comics...

no i didnt mean it was a good portrayol of comic fans...

i just meant it showed how if you take something too far,
and get too obsessed... then it leads to evil things...

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2002-08-21 08:52 [#00358413]

also, on a deeper level, i think it even comments on
religion

smauel l jacksons character has been searching for a reason
all his life... he used the comics to escape his everyday
pains (like religion helps people)

he got obsessed with it, and took it too far, causing all
the pain and destruction (like a jihad or crusade etc)

make sense?

offline Zeus from San Francisco (United States) on 2002-08-21 08:55 [#00358418]

*but he also thought all the pain was justifiable, for this
acheivment...

M.Night Shalayman is all about religion

did you realize his first movie was like this family movie
with this kid whoi goes on a trip searching for God...

also Signs is all about religion if you strip it all off..

movie called

Wide Awake(1998-US)
starring.Joesph Cross, Dana Delaney
Dir. M.Night Shyamalan

Dramam about a nine year old boy who sets out on a spiritual
quest to contact God in an attempt to find out how hs
grandfather, who died five years earlier is doing.

It was on the TV..I didnt bother watching because it sounded
a bit sappy

I prefer THE PREACHER comic series..by Garth Ennis..where an
a priest gets possesed by a half Angel half Demon so he goes
on a quest across America to find God to personally kick his
ass...

yeah...

EVOL......:( I hate to say this to you but
.................YOU'RE ACTING LIKE A STUPID FUCK!

I don't know the reason why you're dissing Zeus and quite
frankly I don't even want to know! I guess you're doing it
to conceal your inferiority complex which is quite sad. I
pity you. But hey, whenever you'd like to talk about
it.......
I can give you only one advice:

Grow up and stop acting like a shit!

ahem...

No, you guys are looking waaay to deep into this whole...
whatever. As Zeus and I already understand each other.
Here is what i will say to you who are so quick to judge.

1st post was as a boy on a mountain top warning his village
below of an impending storm about to hit.
2nd post was as they say on the upper east coast, to
fo'getaboutit.
3rd post was explained in the 4th post. 5th post was making
sure you understood that I DON'T HATE ZEUS!
just because there are people on here that do doesn't mean
anyone that engages in a discussion with him is out to get
him.

i apologize for any and all confusion that may have and did
result from my lack of communication skills known as
"emotions" from these typed words on the internet.

Unbreakable is shit, shit and shit. I was actually about to
leave in the middle of the movie, when it was at its most
shittest.

And Signs is prob. going to be even shitter.

The Sixth Sense was the least shittest---it was actually
quite good.
