BRIAN ENO

I'm declaring August 22nd International Eno Day--everyone
take holiday from work and get blazed to some Eno.
This is your day.
Make the most of it.
Tell others.
Go forth.
Make disciples.
In Eno's name,
Amen.
:)

eno fuckin rocks people, glad you all see that too. :)

unfortunately, the only eno I have is in mp3's, but I am

airports later down the road (I have those on mp3 anyway).

My favorite Eno albums are 'Ambient 3: On Land' and
'Thursday Afternoon' (Thursday afternoon is a single
61-minute track and it's amazing).

I dig his earlier work too. 'Taking Tiger Mountain (By
Strategy)' is another favorite of mine.

Another Green World has been listened to recently too,
another beast, nearly all his output is great, Here come the
warm jets is another monster, blank frank is spot on.

Another Green World is probably my favorite album...overall
his ambient works are more powerful, but his stuff in the
early-mid 70s rocks huge ass.

deffo, all the production, tunes, you can see his influence
on all the bands he,s produced, real distinct sound, great
voice too, My life in the bush of ghosts with Byrne is an
absolute monster too.

Yeah, My Life in the Bush of Ghosts blows me away. A lot of
people don't like the voice, I think it's great. I really
miss his lyrics - they are some of the best. Simple,
poetic, and effective.

offline phiz from Liverpool (United Kingdom) on 2002-08-23 21:31 [#00362078]

yes, his voice sounds happy somehow, all the time, a unique
tone again, the way he expresses his lyrics, like he's havin
a laugh with you, top. :)

exactly, even when he's singing about dying at the end of
the season on a faraway beach all alone and unkown on "On
Some Faraway Beach", he sings it with so much resolution and
relief. He's turned that image into one of hope.

can I ask---what's in your mouth, if that is you on your
avatar?

Critical Eno Question:

Why is a most awesome track, Prophesy Theme, stuck in a
soundtrack (Dune) that is otherwise filled with Total TOTO
Dreck!!!! I can't touch the album...it's that horrible!!!
But I heard the P.Theme on CBC and can't forget it's
exsistance!!!

Did he do an entire session for Dune? Is this track
available elsewhere?

Please help...
