In what way are you using the messageboard?
What messageboard? (68) 31 %
Only browsing the messages... (77) 35 %

I just thought it was interesting that essentially 36% of
the people who visit this site never write anything on the
MB. Now you can't change anything about the people who only
browse (its probably better than not everyone posts), but I
thought that it sucks that 1/3 of people are missing out on
what is the best part of the site (imo). So maybe a bigger
link to the MB than previously? Something more standout
than a tiny link the same as all the other sections as in
the v4 site. It's probably stupid to suggest this as things
are going to be totally different in xltronic, and I imagine
you are aware and have thought of this already...

31(%) don't know about it, 35 just skim it and don't post,
and 13 read it all but don't post?

So, 35+13=48... 48% are just WATCHING us talk, without
talking THEMSELVES?

Freaky... I feel all eerie all over... you weirdo Peeping
Toms... I know you're out there! Psychos... I want a
restraining order.

Yep, well think about it, there are 1316 members, If I spent
an hour on it I could probably rattle off a list of 100 I've
ever seen post on v5, tops. What are the rest doing?
(dramatic music)

It's only sensible that there are a higher percentage of
readers than posters.

And how can we forget the lovable bunch who only post and
don't read =)?

Phob should do what I'm doing on my new (faster) board and
implement a 'prune members' feature where if you don't post
within a certain period of time (say, two months), it sends
you an email warning and if there is no response, deletes
your account.

If that was done, I'm sure the membership would drop well
below 1000, perhaps even 500.

Lots of people register multiple accounts, or register just
for the heck of it, and never use the account. Better to get
rid of all of that crap I say.

Joyrex, yeah I agree, not necessarily post but at least
login. I have no problem with people who want to scan
without posting...they are free to lurk as far as im
concerned. GL with the new board.

That's not a very good example because only about 200 people
voted in it. Look at the numbers
