If track 3 sucks...

... the whole album sucks :(

why do people choose a shitty 3rd song?

anyone see this theory themselves?

it's true... find an album you don't like... listen to track
3 & usually WITH ME... I HATE THE WHOLE REST OF THE
ALBUM.... call me fucking crazy, but it's true.

obviously complete rubbish qouth, but well done for making
me get off my fat arse for a second to go and have a look

not even the sound of an ice-cream van can make me do that
nowadays, you should be proud of yourself

so if track three is good, will the rest of the cd be good?

the third one is usually the single, so yes, the third track
can be a guage of how the album is. What that usually is for
boring indie, 12 track-per-album types.

think about it...

RDJ Album = Peek 824545201... FUCKING AMAZING SONG... the
song i love on that album that IS MY FAVORITE...

Tool - Lateralus - The Patient
Tool - Aenima - h.
Afx - SAWII - [rhubarb]
Afx - SAWI - PULSEWIDTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no come on... those albums are my FAVORITE... seriously...
Darth Manchu was right about the single for SOME but not
all... i've had this idea about alot of albums in the 1st
place ...

one bad example would be Mr. RDJ in Druqks as he chose
Kladfvgbung Micshk

WTF!

Drukqs is not a conventional CD, and I think this whole 3rd
track thing is a load of crap... choose what you like on a
song by song basis. If anything, the first track is the one
that counts the most (second if the first is some wierd
intro)

i dunno about the theory...

but it is true that commerical records tend to put the hit
song, or single on track 3.

when the cd is given to a radio station... the people there
dont have time to go through and listen to every track and
find a gem... they put on track 3, and if they like it, it
goes on the air, and if not... its most likely it will be
thrown in the non play pile

ae - chiastic slide

trac 3 is tewe

tewe is my fave trac on the album

the rest of the album seems kinda boring to me

perhaps this theory doesn't hold tru on all albums, now does
it?

or perhaps track 3 represents the whole album as a whole...
a sort of "mood" "feeling" " faux faux pas" if you will :)

I can't say I agree with this.

Nope, sorry. I can say the same thing about the 1st, 2nd,
4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, and
14th songs, too... and find examples to back up my claim.

You're full of the proverbial SHIT, Patty Boy!

yeah track3 on saw1 sucks. this theory is not true. people
could say the same theory but instead of third say 6th song
if they like the 6th song on all their cds for some reason.
track 3 isnt always going to be universally good or
anything.

I find a lot of times that if the first track sucks, it
really hurts the album, but not really track 3...

i've never really noticed that that much, but often they
start off with one of the better tracks, then follow soon
after with the best track(s), i guess so the record does not
seem to go all downhill after the first track...

... what i have noticed is that the weakest or strangest
tracks are usually stuck back in the end of the record, at
the next to last, or next to the next to last.... when you
look at old albums that date before CDs, the worst tracks
tend to be the next to last on each side of the record...
