What the hell is Technodub?

So I am in the magazine shop looking at the music mags and
this odious mag called Ministry grabs me by the collar
shakes me hard and yells "Technodubfest" loudly from the
giveaway CD cover...and somewhere it mentions Junkie XL..

so what the hell is it?...I mean I love techno and I am
quite partial to dub..but this sounds like a genetically
engineered abomination (being touted by ugh Ministry
magazine no less) that I want to keep locked away on a
petrie dish in a lab for a 100 years or so!...

and Junkie XL..dont they do the dumb big beat stuff that
often gets used on bottled water for extreme sports idiots
who are too stupid to be aware of an invention called "the
tap" commercials or some thing?

Misery of Sound sucks so much!! The only thing I can think
'technodub' could be is Maurizio and some of the Force inc.
stuff is. If you buy Reaktor you get a big catalogue of
some nice loops from....someone who I can't remember! that
is really good.

If you haven't checked Maurizio you've got to...

It is a matter of cultural practice to make up words in a
pseudo attempt to classify, while the real reason is to
confuse everybody and destroy the music industry. The
practice was started by radicals in the 2nd century bc. They
were the first to coin "genre" and were successful in
destroying interest in the art of strawberry flinging which
is why that art no longer exists today.

we should start calling all electronic music "technodub",
especially the stuff we like. warp records, home of
technodub.

I've decided the main useful word to classify stuff I like
and a potential genre category that will never catch on it:

organic music

junkie XL is a really nice person, I don't think he 'sold
out'. He was having a laugh and it took off. There is
nothing wrong with that.

yea, have fun with that - let me know what you learn (their
new stuff) and how things turn out. also, you said you're
going to swap, so it'll be interesting to hear what they do
with whatever the fuck you've been doing outside of sailing

That bit's really scary!! I'm gonna play some of my new
stuff (only crappy Djing Bollocks) next week..

Their 'journeys' are worth the wait, at least they deliver.
I'm fed up of ambient/wallpaper nonsense for 12 minutes of
clicky nonsense. I really think this is going to be a good
thing, I've learnt sooo much over the past few years..
