Just as this was brought up last time, I heard on Bravo! that the Stanley Kubrick version of it will be shown tonight at 9 or so. its the old black and white one from like the 50s. I don't know if i'll get the chance to see it...or wanna see it.

I have it on video - very good film. If you are a fan of Peter Sellars, he is in it. The book also is very excellent.

lol liking them in a good way...being fun and doing things with them.
its just that with this movie it has to be one of the most tragic stories. i mean all the characters get hurt. the mother dies...and the others spiral down. its a sad story of utter chaos.

It's a beautifull and tragic story! I was just being silly. If you haven't read Stanley Kubricks biography I think youl'd enjoy it, he was such a perfectionist with humour + controlfreakism (?). It's a brilliant story and so well told.

Lolita is one of my Kubrick faves. Everything about it is near perfect. Must see classic. Haven't seen the 1997 (?) version, is it any good? Any opinions from people that have seen both films?
Ooh! This is a milestone post for me (1000th)! Seems rather fitting since Kubrick is my favourite director!
I'd like to thank god and my parents for getting me to where I am today :) Aphex Always=D

I saw practically the whole thing. I missed the very beginning. the show had not very much to do with sex and for that Im grateful. I do recommend this movie to ANYONE...its just a sad story of love gone awry.
Ive not seen the 97 or whatever version. ive looked it up and apparently does have sex scenes and nudity...the 60s version does not. no sex whatsoever.

Jeremy Irons was the bad guy in the third Die Hard movie, and he was the main bad guy in Dungeons & Dragons (haha), as well as many other things! Good actor.
