What do the americans here think of this new bill?

Personally I really disagree. I don't do or condone drugs,
but saying that a place selling bottled water encourages
drug use?

Come on, I often drink bottled waer when I go out becaue I'm
often the designated driver...

ive never heard of the RAVE act...but i can see the top
peoples' concern...which is drugs. you have to admit raves
are infested with drugs. that and 'loud noise'...which i
don't mind so much really...but most people would.

It's in the news over here. It's a proposed act to close
down venues that have drug use. It's an acronym that spells
out words to the effect protect america from ecstasty (can't
remember exactly what it stands for).

hmm...no more drugs in raves...what will those poor kids do.
why can't they just enjoy that music...i wish they could
try that and not screw with dugs.

it's NOT in the headlines here....so i'm not sure whats up
with it.

sounds odd to want to discourage people from selling bottled
water.....especially for the DD's?? puzzeling....i'll look
in the paper tomorrow and see if there is any story.

seeing as bottled water is pretty much a life-saver when it
comes to X use, anything that makes club/rave owners think
twice about making it available is bloody dangerous and is
gonna cause more harm than good...

Yep, way to go. Maybe if enough people die of dehydration,
ravers will think twice about doing e's. That seems to be
the plan...

clubs and pills are inextricably linked, fuck man afx, pusher
all the rephlex crew started out doing raves---pills are
responsible for all the good dance music we have now--
allowing and regulating drug use is a much better idea than
clamping down on it , i much prefer raving in a nice safe
enviroment- with good air conditioning and copious ammounts
of free water- instead of being paranoid about whether some
meathead bouncer is gonna chuck me out. clubbers get ripped
off enough already what with high ticket prices and stupidly
expensive bottled water- we should at least be allowed to
skin up for christsake

Once again jand...i have to agree with you there.

Anyone reminded of that tiny warning on that AE cd about the
repetitave music act in europe?

It won't pass. No, worries :).

The British government basically shit themselves when they
found out the scale of drugs in clubs, pubs etc.
The American government will probably do the same thing if
Ecstasy becomes as inextricabley linked to dance music
culture as it is here.

yeah, that's the whole point of this thread. the american
govt has found out. And are taking the same measures. I
think what might happen is that since we're considered in "a
time of war," thus giving the govt special faschist powers,
they can declare that inorder to protect yadda, yadda, they
need to come in and shut down any gathering of teens maxing
a certian number.

hell, they could just site these places as being biohazards,
and under the new helath care acts, declare a type of
martial law in the state when it's up to the govoner's
descression.

I hear they're selling oxygen now.... the only reason why
that is: because you can't leave the club for fresh air
without having to pay to get back in!!!

are you serious? oxygen is more dangerous than water.

Yeah, you get drunk on oxygen and it makes your voice
squeeky like helium.

It's a real problem for divers as they get drunk and then
laugh a lot at the way everyone talks, using up a lot of
their air in the process.
