bit too close to the original...
All my fave cover versions add something new or approach the song in different style..(like for instance, Mike Flowers version of Wonderwall, that was pure genius)...
That said...it's not bad...better than I expected, I must admit..

I agree that it's a little too close to the original but the drum work is fantastic

The other three tracks on the EP are excellent - especially good is When Good Dogs Do Bad -- I like the cover version too

It's awful. It just goes to show how electronic music is soo above and beyond everything else in its capabilities...just makes me want to put on the real come to daddy.

Right now I think electronically generated music's capabilities are beyond non-electronically generated music in what types of sounds it is capable of creating...sure the drummer is talented, but with electronic music its really more about the sounds created rather than how they are created. I feel the same way about Film right now. Maybe I'm a technofile. I don't really understand what is sickening about it...

You're just disrespecting not only every piece of music made before the mid-20th century, but also the musical geniouses who make music by different means (i.e. non-electronic instruments). I just think it was a very ignorant comment.

Hmm, I didn't mean to. The only people who I am disrespecting really is this band who obviously did as much as they could to come as close as possible to recreating sounds that were originally computer generated, and the output does not sound nearly as good. I feel the same way about Philip Glasses cover of Icct Hedral. I listen to some alternative type music, if that's even what they call it anymore, I also listen to a lot of hip hop, and my brother is a classical pianist, so I am subjugated to that 24/7 (although I'm not really into it myself.) The beats the create for hip hop, the sounds that guitars can create, there's just a lot more possibility right now with computers. And of course acoustic instruments sound good. I think what can be done right now combining the two is particularly interesting, and I also think that computers can come much closer to reproducing the sounds of bands/orchestras etc. than vice versa, that's why I would seldom listen to the cover of an electronic song.
If I say that digital video editing is superior to film editing does that mean I'm disrespecting every movie and filmmaker before 10 years ago?

dillinger escape plan is one of the most talented bands out there. not many can come close to the speed and preciseness of them.
