Build the PC yourself and pirate the software. You'll still
need some money though...

Do some music for radio jingles/adverts for small
companies.

Do some "cash in hand" manual labour.

Sell some old stuff you don't want (garage or car boot sale
perhaps)

i have alot to sell actually... but i dont think it will be
enough for my studio im aiming for :)

to sell i have: fender fretless bass, yamaha 5 string bass,
dr-770 drum machine, dr-202 drum machine, sp-202 sampler,
mc-303 synth, gemini 646 mixer, and maybe an iMAC (not sure
if i want to keep it to have 2 comps... one for music, one
for net etc)

what i WANT is : a custom- top of the line G4 MAC with like
2 gigs of RAM, eLogic Sequencing program, Exs24 software
sampler, csound, Live (real time mixing program for live
sets) Reason 2, MOTU firewire audio interface, a Surface 1
midi controller, and a mini disk w/mic for portable
sampling

and then of course, if at all possible, a MAC laptop for
live gigs...
heheh
ehhhhh

uhhhhg

If you wander around the outskirts of town and ask at
garages/building sites etc. you might get some work. Or a
kicking. Either way you'll meet some "interesting" people :)

collect aluminum cans and recycle them for money.

Burn CD's of your tracks and sell them on consignment at
record stores by your house, sell your cds on the street.

Get a camera and take some artsy fartys photographs of new
york land marks etc, and sell them on the street, i think
you have to buy a little permit to sell on the street, but
hey it takes money to make money. try leaving the shutter
open for a minute or two while the camera is on a tripod and
you will get some trippy tracers while people are walking
by, traffic lights look cool when the green red and yellow
lights are all on at the same time, my friends dad travels a
lot when he is in new york thats how he makes a living but
hes been a photographer for many years his photos are
amazing.
