Oh it's from this track called Amen Brother... do a search on a thread called "Breaks" and I posted a link to some MP3s of the original break.
My one complaint about []pusher is that his old stuff sounds dated and I can't listen to it anymore. Hard Normal Daddy is totally irrelevant today - that who James Bond spy sound.

my one complaint (same with aphex at times) is that of the 2 cds I have of his, Go Plastic and Music Is Rotted..., neither have a real booklet. its just a single cover thing with a picture on the back. The artwork is always sweet but very few and far between. Thats why I love my little geogaddi book! so much cool stuff. well thats my beef.

the one he uses at the beginning of 'come on my selector' with the little 'uh huh' mixed in is called the 'think' break...after the song think(about it) by lyn williams...which is where it was sampled from

Lynn Collins & The JBs - Think (About It). And he uses the Amen quite a bit on Go Plastic. It's probably so twisted and phased out through all of the time stretching and splicing he does to it, that you can't really tell that it's the Amen sometimes.

This is an amazing compilation of theirs....
check apache, you need real player, at the end of this tune there is a 3 minute drum workout that is the heart of hip hop/jungle etc.

but it's the amazing things he does with breaks not that they becone more and more comercially avaliable - it's the old dj shadow argument from yesterday - it's surely the artists creativity that inspires you as much as the choices of samples ... alot of "idm2 uses similar sofware but the results are different and uneven ...

Yes, definately. I was helping someone find some of Squarepushers inspirations. I couldn't give a shit about 'IDM' to be honest. Most of it is very bland and up it's own arse.

am I the only one that spends hours creating my own breaks?...am I just wasting time?..because as soon as anyone hears a break they will just assume it's the amen break..I mean if a lowly crap artists can create their own breaks..so can []<....and I believe that he constantly does....it's not really that hard...
