That's it really. Can't think of a fifth one. I like SAW II
way more.

yeah, I'm not a big fan of SAWII... however SAW85-92 is one
of my favorite Aphex releases...

I think it's the 808 kit that does it for me. I cannot stand
that thing. I know that's all he really to work with then,
but I just hate it.

I guess I'm more of a fan of cinematic music. I like SAW II
a lot because it paints good mental pictures. To each his
own though. Love that female vocal sample in Xtal though.
Where did that come from?

What are you talking about!!!

1. Schottkey 7th Path
2. Schottkey 7th Path (I would also put it as 3,4,5 but
anyways)
3. Heliosphan
4. Ageispolis
5. Xtal or I

I'm not sure, but Xtal is fabulous... I believe I read
somewhere that it was from a Cocteau Twins song, but I
mentioned that here and people said it wasn't true, so who
knows...

actually Heliosphan and Xtal were what really sparked my
interest in Aphex Twin, but SAW82-92 was one of the last
albums of his I bought because of the import thing and
all...

Tasos mention it.

I'm depressed now... noone is mentioning Schottkey 7th
path... it was the first I heard from aphex back in 1992 and
I was one of the first guyz to mention aphex on the Athens
radio....
I even cried with dat song too... when my girlfriend died in
a car accident...

man, I love Schottkey 7th Path as well... seriously, no joke
here, for my fifth song it was between WATMM, and that one,
and well WATMM just got the edge by a bit...

offline Tasos from Athens (Greece) on 2002-06-23 05:14 [#00281012]

Schottkey is the best song from dat album for me... I still
listen to it and am never fed up of it... maybe because it
awakes memories... dunno...

Heliosphan is still my favorite from this album... it's not
most mature sounding in my opinion, and is just a perfect
song... it was the one that started it all for me, and is
still one of my favorites...

the only song I have ever cried to is Alberto Balsam, I
don't know why, just when I heard it I felt like I saw a
person who lived the saddest life ever and that song was
his/her story... and I just cried.. It's in my opinion one
of the saddest Aphex Twin songs...

the second time the chorus part is played in Alberto Balsalm
when the high pitched synth part comes in is definitely one
of the saddest parts in any Aphex Twin song... it's just
beautiful...

I think the end of Ziggomatic V17 is pretty deep.

which song's master tape thing was hacked away by a cat? I
read somewhere that this happened, hence part of the reason
for the bad sound quality...

What's the story with that?

I read somewhere that a cat apparently got at one of the
tapes somehow, and that that caused some of the bad sound
quality for part of it...

Xtal has that kind of 'wow' effect on it; like the way a
dirty cassette sounds.

Yeah, I'd be like "BAD PUSSY!"

and it'd be like "meow?"

And I'd be like "VERY BAD PUSSY!"

and it'd be like "HHHHHEe" (hiss noise)

And I'd be like "point taken, ill just redo the song"

no but imagine his cat ruining a song like Xtal... the
quality of sound of Xtal is pretty bad, so that was probably
one of the, or the song hurt by his cat... imagine if this
brilliant piece of music was ruined? Damn that would suck...

Yeah, it would. When I first put SAW 85-92 in, I knew that
Xtal would be my favorite track on it.
