what if there was an autechre knock-off group called "black
autechre", where two can-american immitators of autechre
infused the group's signature sound with 20th century black
music like soul and r&b? huh? what about that shit????

i think it's problematic to define music purely by race -
some of the most european sounding electronic music is made
by black men from detroit blah blahh blahh - also autechre
have a fair bit of mantronix and hip hop in them i reckon.

obviously. that said, i am talking about decades old musical
forms started by african-americans!!! i didn't mention
hip-hop, i said soul and r&b. there've been white cats in
these genres of course but they've always been predominately
black musical forms. i wanna hear "black autechre"!!!!!

albums on tresor and a good thing called the quest on
underground resistance - no as technical as autechre but
pretty good - can get their stuff at boomkat.com
smallfish.co.uk prob amazon and forced exposure - they've
also done stuff on rephlex and warp

i still think a duo of african-americans blending autechre
with 60s and 70s soul would be "off da hook"!

i always thought it'd be cool to cover some of autechre's
more tuneful tracks as punk guitar instrumentals. i think
vose in would be good. and acroyear2. the melody would be
superb on an electric guitar.

the dillinger escape plan cover is cool, but thats a fairly
obvious track...

vose in is a great melody...

how about an asian BoC? It would be like all their other
stuff but with the asian bells from "Kung Fu Fighting"
thrown in every few minutes...nah make it seconds.
