If u went to the WARPs MAGIC BUS TOUR and saw Ovucas
set.....then u realize Ovuca is Astrobotnia.

His whole 46 min set was only Astrobotnia tracks, and it was
NOT a DJ
set, it was a live set.

THE LIVE SETs he did both in Berlin and Munich was just
Astrobotnia stuff.

Hmmmm let me think if u play a live gig I suppose you play
your own music???

The live mp3s from those sets is all over the place.

OVUCA = ASTROBOTNIA (no collabos or something like that,
just Ovuca).

A) They could still be trying to hype it and test it out on
live audiences
B)I thought ovuca played 2 astrobotnia tracks?

but if it was live I see your point

Ovuca stated in an interview that he has lived in the town
of "Ostro Botnia"

I still don't think it's him. Reguardless if he played some
of the tunes live, I still don't think it is.

Astrob is a group Rephlex project ... Ovuca, AFX etc....

All those MP3s seem related but each has a sound/artist of
it's own...

Will this mystery ever end?...;)...who cares when the music
is this good...

I don't know my exact impression on astrobotnia. I'll just
have to wait for the releases to decide.

if he was truly playing live, why would he be playing cover
tunes of aphex twin and andy jenkinson? now if it was a dj
set that is entirely different. archrival, when you read
this, describe to us his live setup - was it a laptop gig or
did he have synths and hardware? cos even aphex has been
known to rock a few tunes NOT by him via laptop.

were the tracks that Ovuca "played" live from just one of
the astrobotnias releases? or from all three?

offline Archrival on 2002-05-18 11:43 [#00224597]
Points: 4265 Status: Lurker

He played tracks from all three.

Tits: Yeah it was "just" a laptop set....but you will never
see Ovuca banging on synths and hardware these days, when
Ovuca play live he sits cool and layback behind his laptop.

The other cats were DJing but Ovucas set was a live one.

OVUCA = ASTROBOTNIA

remember Archies words.

the truth is than richard made all the music that has been
released by rephlex... he just hires guys to play his tracks
somewhere else and get the credit.

Now I got the whole Part 2 too and it is so obvious that its
Ovuca, I dont none of the tracks sounds like someone else
than Ovuca.

Hehe listen to track 5!!!
They even speak finish in all the track (it got samples from
a movie from Finland, Ovuca is from Ostrobotnia in Finland).

And look at the latest live performence july the 5th...Ovuca
played as AB again, again and again!

Nice release tho.
Yeah I know, its all about the music.

I liked part 1 much more than part 2.

Track 1, 2, 4 from part 2 = quality material .

I liked all track from part 1.

Im looking forward to part 3

I recommend u to get all the releases but part 1 and 3 seems
to be the strongest parts.

I agree

In Astrobotnia Part 2, about 2 of the tracks have some of
the same drum samples in Astrobotnia Part 1

From "ipe" on the joyrex forum

I've just heard Astrobotnia #2, and i was very surprised to
notice that there is finnish speech sampled in track 5.

The sample is Mr. Pertti "Spede" Pasanen (R.I.P.) telling a
stupid joke about a guy who wakes up in the morning wearing
only a tie and swimming trunks...

Mr. Pasanen is still kind of a cult character here in
Finland. He died in september 2001 during a golf game at the
age of 71. He is well known for his wacky inventions, many
TV shows and dozens of movies. His first film appearance was
in 1954. Since then he has either directed, produced,
written or acted in 62 different movies.

Now i'm 100% sure that atleast the first 2 Astrobotnia
releases are by Ovuca! There is absolutely NO CHANCE that
RDJ would be using sampled speech of the late Mr. Pasanen!

pix on the rephlex site? that is fucking ovuca trying to
hide himself. taking pictures of himself then dstorting
them and pointing the camera at a mirror with the flash on.

god, i hate the fact that he thinks hes so unpopular he
wants to suprise people with this bullshit.

alias a secret? so fucking what! i think its kinda cool he
(or whoever it is) is being really mysterious about it. i
mean, just listen to you guys... you're all so damned
freaked out about who astrobotnia really is!!! ha! that was
prolly his intentions when he decided to do so,,, and it
obviously worked.
