depressing...or just really pathetic and doesn't deserve to
be bought from the store

EMINEM'S THOUGHTS:
And Moby, you can get stomped by Obie,
You 36 year old bald headed fag blow me
You don't know me, you're too old
Let go, it's over, nobody listens to techno.

That was from Eminem's song "Without Me", I really don't
think that as Moby, Moby is cool, but some of his stuff
sucks.

Naaah, I don't think Eminem would make fun of RDJ. He made
fun of Moby, because Moby called Eminem a homophobic, and
misogny. Moby also commented on his lyrics and said they
were bad. That's why Eminem made fun of him.

about 18...it's just a mix of songs that appeal to diffrent
moby audiences...some ppl dig the stuff off of pla, thus a
track that sounds like it was suposed to be on play...some
ppl like his movie scores thus....

u get the picture...

about eminem and his moby bashing...hey, moby put down
eminem in the past (i'm sure more than once), and now eminem
is just returning the favor...and when anyone just upset
about it, it's just playing into eminem's hands...and what
did eminem make fun of? his name? "no one listenes to
techno?" well...first of all...we all listen to
techno...tons of others listen to techno...moby is really
"techno," and what are the instrumentals in eminem's tracks?
i doubt that shady himself is actually playing the drums,
and wahtever else instruments are in the tracks...so what
does that equate to kiddies????? techno. pretty
hipocritical...

personally, i'm going to dl the new eminem cd and spread it
across the net as much as i can...i dled moby's 18, i think
i should do the same w/ eminem, but take it further w/
spreading it.

USACID: sorry to burst your bubble, but eminem's produced
about 30 of the song's he's done (as solo artist, with his
group d12, or featuring on another artist's album, like
jay-z or royce da 5'9), he obviously writes his own rhymes,
and he does come up with the melodies to his songs (not that
they're the most amazing melodies or anything). and to put
the last nail in the coffin, em DOES have his own label:
shady records. personally i like d12, so i can't call it a
shitty label.

anyway, eminem was obviously grasping when he said no one
listens to techno. sure, it wasn't meant to be literal, but
it's not even a very intelligent thing to say and i think
that's one of the worst parts of the song. the point he's
making is that moby tries very hard to appease everyone but
(in eminem's opinion) he'll never succeed cos he doesn't
know what people like (moby thinking it's techno). if you
guys are getting bent out of shape by his moby dis (and it's
intended to dis moby, not people who like techno) then
you're doing what everyone else does; fall into the
controversy of eminem's lyrics. relax.

as for 18, "a track for people who like play"? try 16 tracks
for people who like play, and 2 somewhat newish ones. fuck
moby, commercial assclown.

Just listened to 18, I wasnt a huge Play fan or anything but
I think Play is stronger. Commercial Assclown? What is that
supposed to mean? The guy makes the music people seem to
want to hear, good for him he deserves his money.

he never made a point to repeat himself till now. when
people repeat themselves (without adding ANYTHING new) the
result is always at best less impressive, and at the worst
just awful. moby's watered down version of play is exactly
this. even out of context (the rest of his albums) i don't
think the new songs are particularly memorable, catchy, or
interesting.

offline Taoist Blockade from Wales on 2002-05-08 06:47 [#00210457]

Perhaps not, though it's getting excellent reviews so people
like what they hear. Maybe hes not pushing boundaries but I
dont see how this makes him an assclown.

ok, comercial ass clown? that's really harsh..i've met the
guy here in seattle at the "gravity bar (local vegan
eatery)" and Moby is a really cool, opinionated person... I
don't dig his jesus freakery...but he has a smart head on
his shoulders, and knows what he is doing. and ppl keep
talking about how he "sold out." I think that practially
everyone on this board would kill to get their music on some
sort of comercial spotlight, and make some cash off of it.
And BTW, Moby sure has suceeded...his goal is to make music
that pleases the masses, and make money off of it...well...i
think he did just that...

as for the rest of your remarks about 18 i can't judge the
acuracy on them becasue i've only listened to them a few
times...

I like the essays in his CD covers. They're really
intelligent, unpretentious and not contradictory at all. All
hail the bald twat Moby.

And he cynically tried to cash in on his great-grandfather's
literary success.
