Reccomend me arty films

Pretty, aesthetically arty films, please.

Not if this is the best example, but Crash was kinda artily
shot, so something along these lines. Little Fish was sorta
arty I guess, too.

Thanks.

To add to this, I would prefer cheerier stuff than Three
Colours Red/Blue/White.

Something non-commercial, but also not too serious, if
possible.

Much appreciated.

Did you mean: A Fish Called Wanda?

asks Google

Hm, the synopsis reminds me of Rat Race a bit. I'll download
it, cheers. :)

so you want a film that makes you feel you are watching a
piece of art, but it mustn't be too hard on your unspoiled
soul?

digestible?

so in fact, poo?

try this it's literally pretty shit.

Captain America. It's based on comics which are drawings
which are art.

Good movie. Seen it, though.

Not arty IMHO, but it is fantastical and cool- got Jeff
Bridges in it, so it can't not be cool I suppose. :)

arty?

like swirly ? cameras swirling around and multi coloured
sheets floating in the wind? whilst two people dance and
sing ?

Arty is usually a pejorative word. The worst films of Peter
Greenaway in my mind (Baby of Macon, anyone?) fulfill the
"arty" quota.

I think the Baby of Macon is one of the greatest films in
the world :(
I hated The Pillow Book though, and I haven't been able to
bring myself to see another one of his films since I saw it
a few years ago.

offline Steinvordhosbn from London (United Kingdom) on 2010-03-30 22:14 [#02374465]

The Pillow Book was bad. Bad. I saw Baby of Macon at the
time at the cinema, I think he even did a talk afterwards. I
was left thinking it was rubbish but I may have to steel
myself to see it again. My fave of his is "Belly of an
Architect" which is one of his least stylistically Greenaway
films (as far as I know). though, like you, having
previously watched all of his films and his early shorts,
after Pillow Book... no, no more.

But then, I just noticed you want pretty films that aren't
too serious so just ignore that recommendation
