dubstep?
ok, so instead of pushing time back an hour, you've set it
back to 3 years ago. well done.

least three years. wow

the '00s have brought new avenues of expression rather than
extraordinary instances within long established forms.

i.e. fuck music. play more games.

dubstep is still fresh

but new genres beyond that... hard to see, hard to say.
French electro, minimal techno revivalism, disco rebirth...
everything seems to be coming back, everything seems to be
resurrected. Hard to say what's absolutely new.

the experimental hip-hop coming out of sf/la is really mind
blowing. lots the brainfeederz guys, like flying lotus, gas
lamp killer, then there's shlohmo, low limit, mophono,
ghosts on tape... the sheer quality and amount of music
based around 80-90 bpm that's coming out of california right
now is an awesome scene to be a part of.

check out change the beat in sf if youre into that shit.
free every tuesday, som bar by 16th & mission. the best beat
head night in the city. werd.

new-ish genres?

umm, lol.

Most every artist has their own flavor and evolves on that.

I could say whatever bad sector has done is unique and
therefore new-ish. Though he's just tossed into that whole
noise/industrial/drone crap.

I dunno. Best new genre? Since the advent of electronica,
you can't even use the term genre anymore but instead what
it sounds like.

Of course the easiest answer is the mainstream one, dubstep.
I'd rather say that then the recent auto-tuned pop plob.
