ive always used film camera, but since the digital hurricane its more difficult and expensive to keep on the analogue side of life...
oh and my camera is broken too, and i wanted to revive an old polaroid i had, exactly when they stopped making films, so its all a tragedy and ive kind of almost given up photography... :P
whats a zenit 11?

Hm, it's a shame you have given in to digital, but I know what you mean- very expensive hobby.
Specially a shame about the Polaroid- I have never used one, but I imagine it is very easy and fun. :)
Zenit 11 is a Russian camera- an SLR, built like a tank, very sturdy and uses 35mm film, which is cool cos it is very easy to find.
I bought it on ebay in a job lot, with a load of other cameras. They cost £25.50 including P&P which wasn't bad considering that justifies the price of the Zenit alone. There was a Kodak Brownie 127 which was in very good condition indeed and is so basic and sturdy there is nothing that can really go wrong with it! :) I need to adjust it a bit for use with 35mm film, but that won't be too hard.
If you want to shoot in film, it doesn't have to be that expensive. You can use expired film, which is cheaper and gives crazy, 'arty' effects! ^^
melack, I think you should buy a camera and get shooting again! :D

there ,the place i filmed.....i pointed it toward the sun ,away, up , down ,the thing was fweakin aweseome1 ! a few years later aged 4 i paid 2.500 thousand grands for one of the first consumer digital camcorders , pile of shite for variations in light. film is far better.

i mean only 10 years ago digital cameras were pretty much useless. how old were you then? is this the first time you see a good old camera?
i don't mean to be bitchy, but somehow this irritates me. educate yourself a little at least...

You're a bitter, elitist person, lol. You would rather complain that someone doesn't know about something rather than trying to impart some information about it? That's pathetic.
I have been into photography for about a year and I use a Konica Minolta Z2, which, as I am you know as you are a big old fountain of knowledge, is a 4MP bridge camera. It's okay for my needs- a lot of settings, but not too many to make it complicated. It's a good camera for beginners who want to learn about how to use a camera properly- 10x zoom and a macro setting (though not true macro) up to 3CM so it's a good all-rounder. I am only getting into film now. And I will admit that I know little about it.
Yes, I know that ISO, f-stop, shutter speed of film and all contribute to graininess too.
Do you have a photography website or anything? I wouldn't mind seeing some of your stuff. :)
