The search button on the xltronic page is missing.?.?>
I wanted to post this in the general Oversteps thread that
was started already.

anyhow...

I got the Japan edition of Oversteps in the mail yesterday.
It has the bonus track "Xektses SQL" on it. While I don't
regret the purchase I would say the bonus track is only
mildly interesting, but much better than the bonus track on
Quaristice. It is beatless, and reminds me of the second
half of "Sublimit" in that it has this submerged quality to
it. It sounds like a disturbed sea monster waking from a
deep sleep, building to something more aggressive that never
materializes. At three minutes, its the shortest on the
album.

The Oversteps packaging is digipack. There is an obi card
that hugs the right side and on the back of it are thumbnail
pictures of every AE CD since Confield, then more below of
the Warp20 comps. I like that the design incorporates the
name of the bonus track in big letters in the interior along
with the other names (and listed on the CD face too).
There is also a small printed foldout, with the blurry band
photo we've all seen, and what is my guess a essay on the
band written in kanji.

Bonus track with the Japan edition. Just for marketing
purposes. Clever, but annoying... Europe should have the
bonus tracks

Brown

i guess you don't understand how the Japanese music retail
market works then.

they need the bonus tracks to get their natives to buy
locally instead of importing, which is cheaper for them to
do.

somebody else has to do that. the CD drive on my computer
is shot to hell.

"Xektses SQL" is a good track, but it is only of the quality
most bonus or "hidden" tracks usually are.

yeah. and depending on when you ordered, you may have to
wait even longer.

the original run of vinyl went out of stock, and on March
6th they announced more stock.

if you ordered after March 6th, the records wont be
despatched from the UK until the second week of April.

things usually take about a week to reach the USA once it's
been despatched from the UK, so if you ordered before March
6th you'll have it in around about a week's time. if not,
then you should expect it in the 3rd to 4th week of April.

I ordered in mid-Jan, so I should be getting it sooner than
later. I'm content with the Japan edition I have, so I can
afford a bit more patience.
