It was good until 2002. After Gantz Graf, everyone went
"retro".

to make my point more clear, which one of you cunts would
honestly pick the 00s as your favorite decade of music?

"Art today, though it has disappeared, doesn't know it has
disappeared and - this is the worst of it - continues on its
trajectory in a vegetative state" Jean Baudrillard
2007

It happens with everything. Just keep calm and it'll
disappear and go with all the other toss WE DON'T NEED nor
REALLY WANT

to tell you the truth we pretty much discovered all that
there is possible in the realm of music. Everything further
is just going to be derivative and mindless.

It was pretty decent but of course nothing will ever touch
the 1994-1999 period.

how about you, posting on an electronic music messageboard,
anaylizing the fact that electronic music is over anaylized,
with your turkey sandwich sarcastic avatar and your 75 posts
from just outside Norwich.

over.

Once people realise that simply waking up and farting is far
more edifying than listening to the strained needy
beseechings of anyone so useless that they've had enough
free time to make recorded music, we can all MOVE ON

1994–99 was a crappy period. Go to the early 90's for real
techno, '93 being the definitive year.

Kraftwerk probably was the latest – and perhaps last –
musical reinventor.

Some Germans turn Disco dour and deadpan and then some poor
people in Detroit gather around their one collective drum
machine to make it shitter still. I'll tell you something,
fuck the lot of you.

if you believe Children of Men 'Omgyjya Switch7' is the
future of music

all this recycling of music these days is getting annoying,
none of it is better than what has been done before, the
burst of creativity in the early years of a new
genre/movement is where the best music came from.

Wolfslice said it, that retro thing really ruined any
potential of new stuff. On the other hand it planted a seed
that will turn into something better I feel.

Most decennia lack musical invention or epoch defining
originality. We shouldn't be too sorry. Listen to Kraftwerk,
the masters still live.

So is any attempt at making original electronic music
pointless now? It seems most people are just copying but
putting their name on it.

Re: pulseclock

No, lack of originality isn't pointless or bad. Awesome
music has been created during the 00's. But as for musical
developments, Kraftwerk IMO stood for the latest.

Let's evolve. But let's foremost enjoy. Music's stopped
evolvment isn't music's death. Cf. science.
