Here's my free ambient/downtempo/minimal tech album!

This is probably the most personal and human music I've
ever made. I snuck in a drill n bass track at the end
because I just can't help myself. It's called
"Because I love you...", Enjoy!

Feedback would be most welcome.

Awesome, glad to hear some good feedback! It's definitely
been the most pleasant, relaxed and consistent music I've
made so far.

I liked the christmas song. Nice percussion and sound
selection throughout. Very SawII, imo. Production is good,
for sure. Nice knob twistin' on the last tune. My only
criticism on the whole would be that the melodies didn't
really grab me, if that makes any sense.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense. I have no training in music
theory, and a lot of that was written without using a midi
keyboard aswell. It's more about the sound and atmosphere
and the way things evolve than anything else I suppose.

I'm going back to the drawing board now, rethinking things
and planning what my next release will be. I'm probably
going to go back to a more technical style like my other
music, but try and combine it with the human approach I took
in this album.

Do you know what 'twee' means tnavelerri? Don't do that and
you might express yourself.

do you know what 'smug prick' means jivverdicker? don't do
that every night and you might have time to come up with a
decent track more than twice per decade

Haha! I try not to but I'm in a downward spiral at the
moment.

When you say without midi keyboard do you mean you just step
sequenced it in ableton or what? Just about to buy a full
version of Live 8 myself. Hopefully I can make something of
this quality someday.

Damn you draw all of your notes in?

I have a couple of large midi controllers, but since I've
been moving I have been using my nanokey, and surprisingly
it hasn't stifled my playing...still I can't imagine drawing
it by hand, I'm impressed.

a bit short for an album but nice.

Yeah, most of my music is made drawing the notes directly
into the Ableton step sequencer thing. Ableton has a bit of
a clunky interface though, even though it's really solid. So
it gets pretty slow and frustrating at times, and limits the
creativity somewhat. In FLStudio I can work much faster,
that's where I started with music. So I suppose I know music
from a piano roll sequencer perspective, rather than from an
actual keyboard.

I am making an effort to learn piano/keyboard now, I only
know a few pieces so far. I plan to get a new midi keyboard
soon (mine is broken) so I can practice more. Are the
nanokeys very good? I might just grab one while I save up
for something decent.

They are super cheap, and feel like they will break easily,
but in my opinion well worth it for traveling around...
though they feel more like typing on a laptop then actually
playing a piano.
