LAZY_TITLE

From Four Tet's website:
The new Four Tet release "Ringer" is to be released on the
21st April (May 6th in North America). Track listing is:

1. Ringer (9:58)
2. Ribbons (5:21)
3. Swimmer (8:43)
4. Wing body wing (7:27)

It will be available on cd, 12" double pack and download.

There will be a couple of shows around the release and I'm
booking lots of DJ dates at the moment so keep at eye on the
live page of this website. I'll try and get some of this new
music up on my myspace soon so you can check it out.

In further news I think the remix I did for Thom Yorke is
about to get a vinyl release so look out for that. And I've
just finished a remix for Born Ruffians for Warp records...
not sure when that's due out though.

I'm also just back from New York where I've been recording a
new album with Steve Reid that will be released later this
year.

I think this release will be interesting. And there's a song
from 'Ringer' on his myspace now.

oh this is good. just as i was about to give up on him. not
what i expected, sounds great. more "electronic" than usual.
thanx for the heads up.

i think its pretty boring.
loops more than i would ever dare to do, there are nice
melodic ideas but really, goddamn looping

hmm, bit boring really. not really peddling any new ideas.

looping more than needed its being always there in his
tunes,
maybe he have just took it as his distinctive touch...
removed the beauty and the amazing sounds,
this is just exhausting

i hope there's an albums worth of this kind of stuff
forthcoming, it's the best electronic stuff ive heard this
year so far

how does one pronounce four tet? like for tet. or.....?

the mp3 on this myspace sounds nice. if the whole album is
like that I'm gonna buy it.

I always assumed it's pronounced like quartet. Stress on the
second syllable.

I think it has the same pronounciation as Dour
festival...but but with an F...and without the festival
part.

and also without the extra but

Or could it be like petit fours but not so petit and with
extra tete.

maybe it's just 4-tet?

It's ok but not fantastic in any way. It's the first four
tet thing I've ever heard so I'm not able to compare it to
earlier releases. Ringer is - in my view - a nice detroit
techno-ish little record and you don't get too many of those
these days...

Anyone heard the new Matmos album then?

I like Four Tet. They had an album recently my buddy played
me that had a kind of post rockish feel, then i guess this
new stuff is pretty different from that.

I like matmos... Sometimes im not sure about what they are
going for, but other times its really good. i like The West
and The Civil War. Chance to cut is ok I wasn't real real
into the rose has teeth but i need to give it some more
listens.

Have you heard the new album? If so what do you think? I
picked it up a few days ago but havent had the chance to
give it a listen yet. In fact I'm going to do it now!
