Fairlight CMI sample

I know a lot of you have got an original Fairlight CMI
stashed away in the corner of your rooms. What I am looking
for is a sample of the "OOHH" sound as used in a lot of
songs made in the 1980s. I don't want Orchestral stabs,
Gunshots, dodgy world instruments... I'd like the "OOHH"
and, possibly, the "AAHH".

There are some floating on the internet but they're some
duffer playing a few notes, and I just want the one so I can
maybe in turn SAMPLE it myself (you see how I'm getting the
hang of this 30 year old technology) and having my own
BUDGET Fairlight. That just plays OOHHs and AAHHs.

I am trying to recreate the 80s so as to DESTROY the 00s.

Godspeed, fair Belch! I am practically peeing my pants
thinking of Fairlight Ooh and Aah samples in a Grinning Ape
context.

And if you find any slap bass samples in the process send
'em my way eh?

I think the 80s have been recreated enough. Your not going
to recapture it with a few fairlight samples. Try some
prophet with a little dx7.

oyvinto : I hope that's you that's sampled.

uviol: Yes.

Taxidermist : Well, I am thinking about a particular
sort of 80s, the 80s... I remember. I will heed your advice
about Prophets and dx7s.

you know a good way to make ooh and aaah pads is actually
singing OOOOOOOOH and AAAAAAH, finding the loop points so
you can play them als long as you want and then start
layering them.

Do you have any samplers that supports the nki format?

here's an "aaah" I made.
LAZY_aaah

when you play chords with it, add some reverb, and chorus it
will sound like this

Impakt You are kind, generous, a wonderful person.
May the lights of the LEDs guide you and the lushness never
desert you.

isnieZot That's not bad, is it, I'll have that as
well, thanks very much.

Hello impakt,
can I ask you for the same thing - could you please upload
somewhere that famous OOHH.WAV Fairlight sound again? The
link you posted 3 years ago obviously doesn't work
anymore...
Thanx!
