aphextwin robert miles

evolume from seattle wa on 2001-05-19 10:07 [#00006761]

i was just using limewire to taste test some music and i
keep seeing this aphextwin robert miles duet shit. this
shit ain't real is it? it sounds just like a track taken
straight off that lame robert miles new age album. also,
that speed racer song. thats gotta be bull shit too.

on a side note, i have purchased over a dozen aphex
releases. however i do feel gnutella and napster etc are an
excellent way to taste test stuff before i buy so i'm not a
dirty pirate... yarrrghhh matey!

I myself have bought many releases from many artists, and i
believe if you can get it for free.. then its cool.. thats
all.

Robert Miles is even better than that... it's actually by
Torley Wong.

That's what I use Audiogalaxy for as well, no one I need to
try out at the moment though, I'm getting a whole lot of
mp3.com/ampcast songs.

When you pirate MP3s, you're downloading Communism.

in, like, 2000 or something, i wrote a visual basic app that
you'd enter a search keyword into and it would scrape
audiogalaxy and some other sites and dump it into a window
with ordered results and easy copy/paste to FTP. a few
people on IRC rather liked it and one of them was using it
to find porn, and that blew my mind; that hadn't even
occurred to me. i was just looking for MP3s

no it's more insidious, it makes you question the myth of
scarcity

do you guys remember using the dank software "audiogalaxy"
that ran in the windows system tray and intercepted download
clicks from the audiogalaxy web page, it was so cool,
probably a security nightmare too

Yes, Kazaa, audio galaxy, mp3.com.... what else... was
banned from Napster for having Metallica mp3s. Don't even
like Metallica.
