i would like to find out more (and get his music) about
this jazz guitarist that i saw on tv. all i know about him
is that he is from new york. i think his name could be mike
and his surname an italian one but im not sure. i would say
he's between 40 and 45 and has grey hair. im sure there are
houndreds of gutarists alike but anyway i wanted to give it
a try.
thanks

He plays on a lot of Tom Waits' albums from
Swordfishtrombones onwards. You should check them out, not
just for Ribot's guitar playing, but cos they're absolute
masterpieces! Waits is a genius, and the RainDogs album is
the best avant rock album ever.

i just bought rain dogs (should've done it ages ago). the cd
doesn't have any credits, but ribot plays on this one?

i have both wait's last albums and they are really
wonderful,especially blood money
but i don't think ribot played on those two
but i'll get raindogs
thanks

'raindogs' is from 1985, and i like it over the newer stuff,
though they're great too... 'swordfishtrombones' is
excellent as well, and 'the black rider' is a wonderfully
twisted theater soundtrack... waits is the man.
