yeah, I know someone who's just finished a law degree from oxford and he's working in a company for fuck all, jsut because of the name, but its worth it in the long run... i'm doing work experience in some studios here and that'll be unpaid.. |

cos i needed a job quick to stay in london - i was sleeping round friends houses and i needed to just keep going - an d they gave me thre job on the spot after loads of tests for my musical knowledge.. |

I assume that warp would quite easily fill such a position with a meagre salary due to the number of IDm fans that would want to work for them. As such they're unlikely to have a great salary package. If the job was the same, but in say, a macdonalds chain, you'd have to pay higher wages to entice people to work there... |

yeah it's ok - i worked in a vinyl exchange - second had stuff - rare bits exchanging hands forloads at inflated prices - the staff were really weird but they got the best stuff before it hit the shelves - didn't stay there that long - went to work in a univrersity |

Oh and the fact that they don't mention the salary- usually an indication that it's not great. If a job is well paid the company will make it prominent in the advert, e.g. 3d Artist required, £35,000 p/a |

i have a friend who went out with one of the press people there and the salaries were actually pretty good as well as the obvious perks - ie making great music happen |

I'm not flaming warp- I just doubt that warpmart are exceptionally generous with their salaries. Still, job satisfaction is important too and if it's a nice working environment/something you're interested in you're prepared to work harder/less. |

astrid which exchange did you work at? My amte used to work at one and said his was full of wierdos too. He said the exam was pretty tough to get in. |

the notting hill one - they've gone into some sort of recievership now - ther guy who ran it ws a bit mental he was basically a millionaire who puit cash under his mattress and lived in a on bed flat sort of thing - he was told to insure all the shops as it's a legality - so he set up his own insurance company and paid the insurance money to himself - he was caught out and done over - sonya from echobelly (anyone remember them) works in there.. |
