Exactly How I Feel!

"It would be in vainto try to put into words that
immeasurable sense of bliss which comes over me directly a
new idea awakens in me and begins to assume a definite form.
I forget everything and behave like a madman. Everything
within me starts pulsing and quivering; hardly have I begun
the sketch ere one thought follows another. In the midst of
this magic process it frequently happens that some external
interruption wakes me from my somnambulistic state: a ring
at the bell, the entrance of my servant, the striking of the
clock, reminding me that it is time to leave off. Dreadful,
indeed, are such interuptions. Sometimes they break the
thread of inspiration for a considerable time, so I have to
seek it again- often in vain."
-Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky

man, do i relate with EVERYTHING in this quote. (except
having a servant).

but esp the part about the feelings of bliss when writting
music. I feel the same way. When I talk to other musicians,
and I tell them that Im not really big on performing or
playing an instrument, but writting, they dont seem to
comprehend this. Im glad such a genius feels the same way
though! =)

i'd rather write other peoples music.

i hate being interrupted.

coz i never get a chance to talk (which is why im going nuts
on the bm todaie, hope you all dont mind) - in my family my
sister is a swimmer and they talk about her all the time
*sob*
and she gives me dreary looks when i say i got nice comments
on my songs and stuff.

lol, anyways......(!)

*pfff*

That's terrible, favoring one child over another, especially
an athletic one...

Keep going od++: You have nothing to lose and everything to
gain.

*thumbs up*

and yes, my family kinda gets bored with it all.

"oh, another song to listen to."
"oh thats nice they like it"
"oh blah blah blah"

hehe... but I guess after 5 years of showing them every song
ive ever written, id be tired of it too :)

but they do enjoy my music, and tell me thier thoughts on
it...

but actually convincing to get them to stop what they are
doing and come have a listen is hard :S

ah nahhh it's ok my parents nkow what theyre doing
they let my sister go on about herself at dinner coz shes
liek that (ver. competitive) and i'm usually quiet at
dinnertmie anyways (i eat)

they talk abotu me other times.

PS i used to be as she is now when i was her age (a few
eyars ago - when i did state basketball) and she refuses to
beleive it, haahha.
dad goes "katie, cal used to be at least as fit as you are
not so dont get too up yourself"
heehee
thanks :)

PS the writing other ppl music thing was just
....nonsense...really.

Zeus - yeah my parents get that too, but my dad is really
into music. all kinds. he currently had the rdj album in his
car (i put some og my cds in there) and hes really into some
of squarepushers stuff. he hates rnb aswell, hahaha

yeah, my dad plats guitar and is really supportive of me.
its just that he works long days, and is tired when he gets
home etc...

yeah, i may have made it sound too dramatic. my family is
really supportive.

none of them really like IDM though :S

my sis likes alittle, my dad likes SOME but not enough to
listen to on his own, and my mom generally doesnt listen to
much music

neith erdoes my mum

heh my sister is a little rn head. gah!
dammit i used to love it when she was into rock leik
grinspoon and frenzal rhomb and that coz i like a lot f that
kind of stuff too.
and i used to borrow heaps of her cds... now all her new
ones are usher and nellie....bah.

a lot of ppl who make music dont even show their stuff to
the other ppl in their family. that's always puzzled me.

my sister has the wierdest tastes

she listens to like, fiona apple, and tori amos, but then
she likes guns n roses, and cold play, and the who, and this
and that and everything

she listens to every possible genre

its kinda wierd looking through her cds...

yeah, i always show my family my work and get thier opinions
on it. im close with my family though... not everyone is, so
i can see why some people dont bother to show it... :(
