Best Ae tracks...

offline DaWeeze from WANTED IN 16 STATES! on 2002-08-25 06:13 [#00363761]
Points: 5213 Status: Addict

By my reckoning:

Incunabula-Bike, Eggshell, 444

Basscadet-Ae's own remixes, but don't care for the EP
overall...

Amber-Foil, Montreal, Piezo, Yulquen, Nil, Teartear

Anti-All Tracks (especially Flutter)!

Peel Session 1-All of it!

Tri-Repetae-Clipper, Rotar, Overand, Rsdio

Anvil Vapre and Garbage-MY FAVORITES!!! All tracks offer
listening pleasure.

Envane-Laughing Quarter, Latent Quarter

Chiastic Slide-Only one I don't like is Hub, could've done
something more with this...

Chiclisuite-Tilapia and Krib

LP5-Every one except Fold 4, Wrap 5.

Peel Session 2-Gelk and Bilfil

EP7-Rpeg, Ccec, Malphive 6.1, Netlon Sentinel, Pir

Confield-Pen Expers, Parhelic Triangle, Bine, Uviol

Gantz Graf-Dial, Cap iv

Comments? Questions? Insults?

I think "Characi" is a extremly cool and beautiful track. I
listen to it often.
The Jim O'Ruorke remix is the coolest but the original is
the most beautiful one.

know if its really there.. the mind boggles.

Cichli does that to me...especially when everything except
that flute-like melody drops out at the end...then flickers
out...

Beautiful 8,.)

Most everything from Tri Repetae++, but in particular I
think "Second Bad Vilbel" is my favorite.

I choose Second Scepe from Anvil Vapre (though it's all
good). The clipped vocal sample, the urgent, echoing synth,
the drop-off in the end into that quiet, airy melody and
sparse piano keys...

It warms my soul...:.)

offline DaWeeze from WANTED IN 16 STATES! on 2002-08-26 00:08 [#00364784]
Points: 5213 Status: Addict

Go for Tri-Repetae++!

It's the 2 CD release with the aforementioned album, plus
the Anvil Vapre and Garbage EPs. You should be able to get
it for a good price, if you know where to look.

If you can get into that, other Ae albums will fall into
place nicely. Happy listening!

I would start with 'amber', not with 'tri repetae'.

'envane' is the best ep, imo. 'laughing quarter' --> where
my handle comes from..

outtakes from Amber, holds together much better...

I've always liked Lowride the most off Incunabula.

No one else mentioned that track....tsk!

offline DaWeeze from WANTED IN 16 STATES! on 2002-08-27 06:04 [#00366845]

I think Lowride is a bit disjointed, even for that period of
Ae's music...

But the track that follows it, 444, is a MASTERPIECE!
